Important element<\/h2>\n
An important element of the existing cooperation between the two companies was evident in the implementation of the team’s first full-fledged TPC (Testing of Previous Car) program during the 2025 season – a program that will be officially known as the “TGR Haas Driver Development Program” starting in 2026. <\/p>\n
This year’s TPC race lasted a fortnight and was driven with the Haas VF-23. The race took place at well-known tracks such as Silverstone, Paul Ricard, Fuji Speedway, Imola and Mugello. Japanese drivers Ry\u014d Hirakawa, Ritomo Miyata, Sho Tsuboi and Kamui Kobayashi all enjoyed racing through their TGR partnerships. The company supports the ambitions of racing talent through Formula One opportunities. <\/p>\n
History of Toyota in Formula One<\/h2>\n
Toyota has a remarkable but relatively short history in Formula One. The brand debuted in 2002 with the completely self-built team Toyota F1, based in Cologne. Despite one of the largest budgets in the sport, Toyota never managed to win a Grand Prix, although the team finished on the podium several times. A third-place finish in both 2005 and 2009 were the highlights. <\/p>\n
Late 2009<\/h2>\n
The team was known for its solid, methodical approach, but often struggled with a lack of consistent performance. The global financial crisis eventually led to the decision to withdraw from Formula One in late 2009. Since then, Toyota did not return as a constructor, but through Toyota Gazoo Racing it does play a prominent role in other championships, such as the WEC, where it is achieving great success with hybrid technology. <\/p>\n
