But according to BMW M boss Frank van Meel, it actually makes sense. Speaking to <em>BMW Blog<\/em>, he said, &#8220;More than eighty percent of our customers chose the Competition right away. So we thought: why not just make it standard? In short: every new BMW M model will henceforth be a Competition, but the name and logo will disappear. So future M models will have the power, sharpness, sound and sporty suspension of the earlier Competition models as standard.     <\/p>\n<p><sub><em>Text continues below the image<\/em><\/sub><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/BMW-X3M-Comp-2041-1600x900-1-1140x641.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-212394\"><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Clear<\/h2>\n<p>With this move, BMW M wants to simplify the lineup. Instead of all kinds of variants, there will soon remain a choice of three flavors: M, CS and CSL. The regular M gets the performance of the old Competition, while the CS and CSL are more focused on weight reduction and on the track. For now, some models &#8211; such as the M3, M4 and X5 M &#8211; will remain available as Competition for a while.
