Renault Clio comes out in B-segment<\/h2>\n

The B-segment represents booming business at Renault. Because just read along. The brand has a 100% electric Renault 5 E-Tech and Renault 4 E-Tech on offer. But not everyone is ready for all-electric driving just yet. And so in the B-segment, Renault also has a Renault Captur. And of course we cannot forget the Renault Clio. That Clio is even one of the best-selling models in Europe. This sixth generation Renault Clio should continue that success. <\/p>\n

Renault Clio is sales hit<\/h2>\n

More than 17 million units. That’s how many Clios Renault has produced to date since production began in 1990. Put all those copies together, and you arrive at 68,000 kilometers. The equivalent of 1.7 times around the world. By the way, 1,000 Clios are added every day, because that’s how many cars Renault produces every day at the Turkish Bursa plant. In the first half of 2025, Renault sold 130,000 more in Europe. <\/p>\n

So much for some fun Clio trivia. The prevailing question of this new Clio is mainly: what does this new Renault Clio have to offer? Time for a deep dive<\/em> into this Clio. What engines are on the menu? How practical is the car? How distinctive is its design? And what does the car have to offer? A lot of questions, so time for answers. <\/p>\n

Biggest Clio ever<\/h2>\n

This sixth-generation Renault Clio has been redesigned from head to toe, but is still on the CMF-B platform. But Renault is obviously playing it safe. Not too surprising, when you’ve already sold so many examples. The car’s dimensions are interesting, as the Clio has grown slightly. The car’s wheelbase is 8 mm longer (now 2.59 meters) due to different wheel geometry. Length has increased by 67 mm from 4.05 to 4.12 meters due to a larger front and rear overhang. Width increases from 1.73 to 1.77 meters, a plus of 39 mm. And height has also increased: now 1.45 meters (+11 mm). In other words, this is the largest Clio ever. <\/p>\n

Design and colors<\/h2>\n

The roofline, according to the brand, looks a bit like an ultra-compact coupe. A larger hood, diamond-textured grille, four taillights and an integrated roof spoiler are other elements of the new Clio. By the way, you can get wheels in the 18-inch size. Renault provides seven exterior colors, namely Glacier White, Ceramic Grey, Shadow Grey, Diamond Black, Iron Blue and the new colors Absolute Red and Absolute Green. Oh well, the front counts no less than 113 logos on the front! <\/p>\n

Interior design Renault Clio<\/h2>\n

Because the exterior dimensions have grown, you would think that the new Clio has also become considerably more spacious. But that’s not quite the case. Because the wheelbase has grown by 8 mm on paper, but that is purely due to the new wheel geometry. The platform section itself is not larger; it is the same as the outgoing model. One thing is certain: in the back of this sixth-generation Clio, even with a length of 1.90 meters, you are just barely sitting with your head clear. In the interior, extra attention has been paid to the use of materials. The ambient lighting offers a choice of 48 different colors. The Esprit Alpine version – the absolute top version – even has alcantara trim. A Harman Kardon audio system with 410 watts is available as an option. <\/p>\n

Interior modifications<\/h2>\n

The dashboard features a dual 10.1-inch V-shaped screen (depending on the version), with the central screen facing the driver. The compact steering wheel is also familiar from more expensive Renault models, such as the Austral. The number of steering wheel turns has been reduced from 3.3 to 2.6, for a more agile driving experience.  <\/p>\n

Also integrated is the Multi-Sense button to choose between driving modes, each linked to specific interior lighting. The new seat design uses recycled materials, patterns and colored stitching (depending on trim). The interior includes two USB-C sockets in the front, an induction charger (depending on version) and a 12V socket in the rear to connect a USB adapter or cooler, for example. <\/p>\n

Infotainment with Google<\/h2>\n

The OpenR Link multimedia system with built-in Google offers Google Maps, Google Assistant (which can also control some vehicle functions) and Google Play (with access to more than 100 apps). Exclusive partner apps include the most popular radio stations worldwide (via Radioplayer for Renault), music streaming platforms (such as Amazon Music), video streaming services (such as Prime Video), subscription services (such as HBO Max), an exclusive passenger music game (SongPop for Renault) and an Internet browser (Vivaldi). <\/p>\n

How much storage and luggage space is there?<\/h2>\n

The new Renault Clio seats five and now features new storage solutions, with a central console integrating a closed compartment with a soft-hinged lid similar to a tablet cover (depending on the version). The luggage compartment offers a capacity of 391 liters for the TCe 115 and 309 liters for the Hybrid. The loading sill is 40 mm lower than in the previous generation. The button to open the luggage compartment is integrated directly into the tailgate, at the bottom. <\/p>\n

Sustainability<\/h2>\n

And, of course, Renault also applies recycled materials. The dashboard consists of at least 50% recycled polypropylene (39% for the center console), the bumper absorber is made entirely of recycled plastic, while at least 50% of the aluminum used for the Esprit Alpine’s 18-inch rims is recycled. <\/p>\n

The powertrains of the new Renault Clio<\/h2>\n

Renault supplies the sixth generation Clio exclusively with combustion engines. Those who want to drive electrically will divert to a Renault 5<\/a> or Renault 4. In the Renault Clio there is a choice between a hybrid powertrain, a TCe turbo gasoline engine or an Eco-G bi-fuel engine that also runs on LPG, but the latter LPG variant will not come to the Netherlands.
