A spot that is even more special than it seems at first glance. At this moment there are only three Pontiac Sunfires on Dutch plates. Of one of them, the RDW indicates that it is a &#8220;green&#8221; coupe, so in the same color as the currently spotted sedan. There is also a red one, whose body shape is &#8216;not registered&#8217;. Years ago, yours truly once spotted a red Sunfire coupe. That model could be thought of as a substantially modified Opel Ascona. The Sunfire was still on that technical platform, but it was modified in several ways to meet modern safety requirements. Furthermore, the sleek design of its predecessor was exchanged for a very rounded design.   <\/p>\n<p>Again, the car came as a sedan, coupe and convertible. The station wagon was dropped. Depending on engine variant and version, the transmission was a five-speed manual transmission or a dated three-speed automatic. The latter was replaced by a more modern four-speed already a year after its introduction.   The drive always went to the front wheels.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Two facelifts for the Pontiac Sunfire<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Pontiac Sunfire underwent two facelifts. For the 2000 model year, mainly the bumpers were thickened (and the Convertible was dropped). For the 2003 model year, the front and rear were almost entirely redesigned for a more modern look.
