With previously mentioned power<\/a> of 1,306 hp and torque of 1,680 Nm, the sprint from 0 to 100 km\/h is completed in 2.36 seconds and the party stops at a top speed well above 300 km\/h. A good starting point. <\/p>\n

Ultimate electric violence: Yangwang U9 Track Edition<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Now BYD is taking it up another notch. Or rather, a whole step up. The new Yangwang U9 Track Edition is nothing short of a statement in the hypercar world. Data from the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that this version gets four electric motors of 555 kW (755 hp) each, good for a total output of 2,220 kW, or 3,021 hp. <\/p>\n

In doing so, BYD leaves competitors such as the Rimac Nevera (1,914 hp) and Lotus Evija (~2,000 hp) far behind. This Yangwang U9 Track Edition is expected to take off even faster than the “regular” U9 already does. A real acceleration time is not yet known, but we are very curious. It remains to be seen whether any tire brand can match it. How else are you supposed to put all this power on the road? <\/p>\n

Arms race <\/strong><\/h2>\n

BYD thus shows that it not only wants to compete with the European top, but even surpass them in brutal numbers. Whether the Track Edition will ever officially come to Europe remains to be seen. But one thing is certain. Where the ordinary Yangwang U9 already proved that electric driving can be spectacular, the Track Edition proves that there is still room for more in the horsepower war. <\/p>\n
