Unstoppable<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The summer vacations begin with a record: there are now 630,000 caravans and campers registered in the Netherlands. Is that a lot? Do the math yourself. A caravan is on average 6.5 meters long, a camper about 7 meters, so let’s take 6.75 meters as the average length per vehicle. Multiply that by the total and you end up with 4,252,500 meters. In other words, a row of RVs and caravans of over 4,250 kilometers. If you put them all bumper to bumper, you get a traffic jam from Groningen to Gibraltar and back again. <\/p>\n

Caravan remains popular, motorhomes gain ground<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sales were up 7.7 percent in the first half of 2025 compared to last year. According to the latest figures from industry associations BOVAG <\/a>and Camping and Caravan Industry (KCI), 6,256 new units were delivered in the first six months of this year alone. These include 4,373 new caravans and 1,883 motorhomes. <\/p>\n

Used car market popular<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Not only are new vehicle sales doing well, but the used-vehicle market is also holding steady. So far this year, 17,064 used caravans and motor homes have been sold by specialist dealers – almost the same number as in the first half of 2024. What is striking is that not only young used vehicles are in demand: older models are also being refurbished and repurposed more frequently. <\/p>\n

Caravan in North Brabant<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Where in the Netherlands are they most fond of caravans and campers? In North Brabant. As many as 17 percent (108,594 units) of the 630,000 registered caravans and campers<\/a> are in the name of Brabanders. This makes the province the undisputed camping champion of the Netherlands. Gelderland (88,890) and South Holland (88,685) follow with just over 14 percent each, while Flevoland and Zeeland close the list with less than 3 percent. <\/p>\n
