First affordable EV for families<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Since its debut in 2010, nearly 700,000 units of the Nissan LEAF have been sold worldwide. This has earned the model an indelible place in history as the world’s first electric family car for the general public. Now the Nissan LEAF opens a new chapter by returning as an innovative crossover, keeping up with the times and meeting the expectations of the modern EV driver. <\/p>\n

Aerodynamic design and more spacious interior<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The design of the new Nissan LEAF focuses on optimal aerodynamics. With remarkably low drag and features such as recessed door handles and a covered underside, the body contributes to the driving range. Despite the compact exterior dimensions, the interior is spacious, with 437 liters of luggage space. The tailgate has optional electric opening and some versions come with roof rails. <\/p>\n

Driving range Nissan LEAF: up to 604 km<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The new Nissan LEAF will be available with a 52 kWh or 75 kWh battery. The smaller battery variant offers up to 436 kilometers of range (WLTP) and the larger battery up to 604 kilometers. This is considerably more than the previous generation LEAF. Fast charging is possible with up to 150 kW of power, which can top up more than 400 kilometers of driving range in half an hour. Nissan also says the LEAF drives so economically that at a constant 130 km\/h on the highway, you can still get more than 300 kilometers from a full battery. <\/p>\n

Connectivity and digital cockpit<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Inside, the Nissan LEAF features a digital cockpit with two 14.3-inch screens. The infotainment system offers built-in Google services, voice controls and connectivity with the NissanConnect app. This allows remote control of functions such as interior pre-heating or cooling and battery management. An optional audio system from BOSE is available. <\/p>\n

Prima proven chassis<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The electric crossover is on the CMF-EV platform that Nissan previously applied to the Ariya. MacPherson front suspension and a multilink rear axle were chosen for optimal handling. As standard, the LEAF features a range of driving assistance systems, including ProPILOT Assist, a 360-degree camera and systems for automatic braking and lane-keeping assistance. <\/p>\n

Bidirectional charging and V2L<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In addition to regular charging options, the LEAF also offers Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. Via an adapter, up to 3.6 kW is available for external electrical devices. The car is additionally prepared for Vehicle-to-Grid applications, which allows energy to be delivered back to the grid. This can contribute to lower energy costs and grid balancing. <\/p>\n

Production in England, delivery from spring 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Production of the new LEAF will take place at the Nissan plant in Sunderland, as part of the EV36Zero program. This initiative focuses on sustainable EV production within Europe. Order books will open in the fall of 2025, with delivery starting in the spring of 2026. Prices and exact specifications will be announced later. <\/p>\n
