Back to the roots of British car production<\/h2>\n
The new factory in the Midlands – historically the heart of the British auto industry – symbolizes a return to its roots. The MOKE was designed in the 1960s by Sir Alec Issigonis, also known for the Mini. Now production is being brought back to this region, with the aim of increasing efficiency, improving product quality and responding more quickly to rising global demand for the electric MOKE. <\/p>\n
Growth and employment<\/h2>\n
With production targets of more than 500 units by 2025, targeting markets such as the US and the Mediterranean region, MOKE is growing steadily. The opening of the plant has led to a tripling of the workforce and the creation of dozens of new jobs in manufacturing, engineering, quality control, supply chain and after-sales, among others. There will also be an emphasis on training new talent through internships and graduate programs – an investment in both people and technology. <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Celebratory unveiling and international attention<\/h2>\n
Earlier this month, MOKE International celebrated the opening with an exclusive event attended by retail partners from Europe, the Middle East and the US. Labour MP Matt Western (Warwick and Leamington), chair of the Parliamentary Group on Electric Vehicles, also attended the event. “It’s great to see new jobs being created here in the EV sector and how MOKE is working with local suppliers,” Western said. <\/p>\n
New color combinations and premium look<\/h2>\n
The open house also showcased a range of new color combinations for the body, Bimini roofs and wheels. These additions increase personalization options for customers, and highlight MOKE’s combination of style, durability and innovation. <\/p>\n
International ambitions<\/h2>\n
The new plant is not only a step in British reindustrialization, but also fits into the brand’s global ambitions. The Electric MOKE has now been approved for sale in the US (in all 50 states), Mexico, France, Spain, Italy and soon Greece. Thanks to M1 Small Series Approval, EPA certification and CARB approval, MOKE is the first small-scale EV manufacturer to achieve this combination of approvals. <\/p>\n
Moreover, with about 70 percent of its components sourced in Europe, MOKE underscores its focus on sustainable and local supply chains. This approach places the brand in a select group of independent automakers with a distinctly sustainable mission. <\/p>\n
Nick English<\/strong>, Executive Chairman of MOKE International, sums up, “It’s great to bring production back to the British Midlands, where MOKE once began. In our anniversary year, we are taking a big step forward, with more craftsmanship, innovation and a solid foundation for future growth.”<\/em><\/p>\n
