Four-wheel drive on the Suzuki Swift<\/h3>\n
The Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX is based on the regular Suzuki Swift with AllGrip Auto system. This technology automatically engages all-wheel drive when the front wheels lose grip. The system works with a hydraulic viscous clutch placed in front of the rear differential. When there is a difference in speed between the front and rear axles, engine torque is sent to the rear wheels. The system is passive: no control or selector lever is required; it works completely automatically. <\/p>\n
Suzuki has been supplying the AllGrip Auto system on some versions of the Swift for some time, but with this FX version, the importer is showing how that system can also be cast in a more adventurous guise.<\/p>\n
32 millimeters of additional bottom clearance<\/h2>\n
Compared to the regular Swift, the AllGrip version is slightly higher on the wheels. Together with modified tires, this results in a total of 32 millimeters of extra ground clearance. This makes the model not suitable for heavy terrain, but it is usable on unpaved roads, forest trails or snowy roads. <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Equipment for light terrain<\/h2>\n
The Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX on display features a number of accessories that enhance its off-road appearance. Notable are the black Thule roof rack, wider tires with coarse tread (195\/55R16), black rims, wheel arch extensions and black Suzuki logos. There is also an LED light bar mounted on the nose for better visibility in the dark. The car is also equipped with rubber mats, a storage box and a cooler from Dometic. <\/p>\n
Suzuki emphasizes that these trims are intended as inspiration. The accessories shown are not available as complete sets through the factory and do not constitute an official equipment line. However, some parts are available separately through the accessory program. <\/p>\n
AllGrip in broader context<\/h3>\n
With this version, Suzuki wants to draw wider attention to the capabilities of the AllGrip system. The system was previously developed for models such as the Vitara and S-Cross, but has also been used in the Swift for several years. In practice, its main purpose is to provide extra safety and security in winter or wet conditions. <\/p>\n
By presenting the Swift in this form, Suzuki Netherlands is responding to the growing interest in compact cars with higher entry and wider usability – without falling directly into the SUV segment.<\/p>\n
Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX: no official version<\/h2>\n
The Suzuki Swift AllGrip FX does not come as a separate version in Suzuki’s price lists. It is a demonstration car assembled by the importer, with existing accessories and parts. This means it will remain an inspiration version for now, although Suzuki does not rule out parts from this trim being made available through dealers at a later date. <\/p>\n
