Therefore, in 2019, the company YKSI was registered with the Chamber of Commerce. There was an immediate challenge ahead: the global COVID-19 pandemic. But the company persevered. In 2021, the company secured a 20,000 euro investment (Feasibility Grant). Now it is 2025 and the Rotterdam-based company is presenting a vehicle that looks quite production-ready.     <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/team-yks1-1140x760.webp\" alt=\"Team behind YKS1\" class=\"wp-image-196693\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Shocking fact<\/h2>\n<p>But what exactly is the idea behind the <a href=\"https:\/\/yks1.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">YKSI<\/a>? In the Netherlands, we collectively travel 69.5 billion kilometers every year, mostly in cars driven by just one person. That&#8217;s like flying to Mars 138 times and back. This is not just a Dutch problem; globally, single-seater car trips are a major challenge for sustainability, efficiency and urban mobility. So why not develop a single-seater that has the qualities of a regular passenger car, but is drastically smaller?    <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/yks1-one-digitale-rendering-2025-foto8-1140x641.jpg\" alt=\"YKS1 One\" class=\"wp-image-196691\"><\/figure>\n<h2>YKSI One the ideal image of mobility?<\/h2>\n<p>&#8220;Traditional cars are too big, consume a lot of resources and are built for outdated habits. This level of inefficiency contributes to rising CO2 emissions, excessive energy consumption and urban congestion,&#8221; the company said. &#8220;The YKSI One is a compact electric vehicle specifically designed to reduce environmental impact, improve urban living and make sustainable mobility accessible to all. This is not downsizing; this is optimizing. It&#8217;s not just about getting from A to B. It&#8217;s about how we move through the world and leave it better for those who come after us. But to bring this vision to life, we need partners who share our passion for progress.&#8221; <\/p>\n<h2>Tiltable chassis<\/h2>\n<p>Traditional cars rely on rigid frames that fight momentum in every corner, wasting energy and stressing the vehicle, according to YKSI. For that reason, YKSI opted for a tilting chassis so that the vehicle cooperates with momentum. It leans naturally when cornering, just as a bicycle would. Have we seen this before?    Yes, of course! Think Carver. The fact is &#8211; as we already know from the now-bankrupt Carver that such a system results in smoother turns, improved stability and a driving experience that feels effortless. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By embracing smaller, lighter tires and harnessing the vehicle&#8217;s momentum, the tilting chassis reduces the energy required for both movement and braking. It is a system that maximizes efficiency without sacrificing performance. The tilt mechanism also creates a smaller, narrower vehicle without sacrificing balance or safety,&#8221; states YKSI.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"641\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/yks1-one-digitale-rendering-2025-foto1-1140x641.jpg\" alt=\"YKS1 One\" class=\"wp-image-196684\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Specifications YKSI One<\/h2>\n<p>Very many specifications have not yet been released of the YKSI One, but a few things are already known. For example, the One has a top speed of 130 km\/h and has a driving range of 350 kilometers. In addition, the vehicle weighs 600 kilograms. The chassis can tilt a maximum of 20 degrees. Circularity is at one with the One: that is, the materials used are also recyclable. The interior looks basic, with the dashboard consisting of several displays. The steering wheel also incorporates a display. Whether these elements make it to the production stage, only the future will tell.
