For lighting, Hyundai chose a striking element: the so-called HTWO headlights. These refer to Hyundai’s hydrogen sub-brand and contribute to the recognizability of the car, even in the dark. The four dots in the daytime running lights make it immediately obvious that this is a Hyundai. <\/p>\n The Nexo comes in six colors. One of them, Goyo Copper Pearl, is named after the Korean word “Goyo,” which means “stillness” or “tranquility. The hue is derived from Korean nature and culture, and the three-layer paint creates subtle color shifts depending on the light. <\/p>\n The interior of the Nexo is all about tranquility, space and ease of use. The seats are upholstered in soft materials and the design evokes the atmosphere of a living room. The driver looks out onto a curved, wide screen that brings together the instruments and the infotainment system. The center console has a floating design and offers plenty of storage space. Digital exterior mirrors are integrated into the dashboard. <\/p>\n The new Nexo is slightly larger than its predecessor, resulting in more legroom, headroom and luggage capacity. Behind the rear seat is room for nearly 1,000 liters of luggage – enough for four golf bags, for example. The interior also features so-called “Premium Relaxation Seats,” which are equipped with a leg rest. The backrests of the front seats are slim, allowing more room for the knees in the rear. The rear doors open further than before, making entry easier. <\/p>\n Smart storage areas are located throughout the interior – in the doors, in the dashboard and around the center console. Ambient lighting that adjusts to speed limit warnings provides an added sense of attention to detail. A large glass roof adds to the open atmosphere of the interior. <\/p>\n In choosing materials, Hyundai took a sustainable approach. Finishes include bio-based leather, recycled textiles and plastic waste from the automotive industry. <\/p>\n Under the hood, Hyundai has tinkered heavily with the technology. The new powertrain consists of an improved fuel cell and a more powerful electric motor. System power has increased from 135 kW (184 hp) to 190 kW (259 hp), and the battery now delivers double the power compared to the previous generation. As a result, the Nexo accelerates faster than before; the sprint to 100 km\/h takes only 7.8 seconds. <\/p>\n The fuel cell itself now delivers up to 110 kW of power. In addition, the car is prepared for driving in cold conditions, with features that facilitate low-temperature startup. The hydrogen tank capacity has increased slightly to 6.69 kilograms. It was 6.33 kilograms. <\/p>\n The car’s streamline has been further optimized. Sound-dampening technology such as Active Noise Control and specially designed tires ensure that noises from the road penetrate less into the interior. The model for the European market is also allowed to tow up to 1,000 kilograms. <\/p>\n With the e-Handling system, the Nexo adjusts its engine torque while driving. This helps when cornering and provides a stable feeling in the steering wheel. The regenerative braking system works based on navigation data and automatically adjusts to the traffic situation. <\/p>\n Hyundai has equipped the Nexo with technologies that make driving more intuitive. The traditional shift lever has been replaced by a switch on the steering column, freeing up space in the center console. For longer trips, there is a route planner that automatically includes hydrogen refueling stations when range is about to run out. You can look up real-time refueling stations, see the current range and track the system’s energy distribution through an informative overview. <\/p>\n The infotainment system has two large 12.3-inch screens and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The audio system comes from Bang & Olufsen and consists of 14 speakers. The voice assistant works on the basis of AI and recognizes natural speech patterns. <\/p>\n In the windshield, a head-up display projects information such as speed, driver assistance systems and warnings. Smartphones can be charged wirelessly via two charging stations with built-in cooling and anti-slip surface. Via NFC, the use of a digital car key is also possible. <\/p>\n It is also equipped with Vehicle-to-Load technology, which allows electrical devices to be powered – inside and outside the car, without an additional adapter. The digital rearview mirror uses a camera for better visibility, even in the dark. Digital side mirrors are also available in some markets. <\/p>\n A built-in camera system captures images from the front and rear. Motion detection during parking is possible for up to four days. The car also has fingerprint recognition, which allows users to log in, pay or start the car.
