Why did you choose this location to open a pop-up showroom?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘At the beginning of 2017, we had a pop-up showroom in Amsterdam, in the same place as now. This was a great success. We were the first car company ever to move into a building on the P.C. Hooftstraat. The initial plan was to do this for a month, but we ended up doing this for six months. Last years building was demolished and replaced for a brand new storefront. The great thing about the new building is that it is really huge in width, with a big glass front. That way it’s ideal as a storefront – and ideal for us to showcase four very nice classic cars. We also have a collaboration coming up with L’ Atelier du Champagne and Amsterdam Vintage Watches. We will then create a combo between vintage champagne and classic watches. This will be brought out on our social media sometime in the next few weeks.’ <\/p>\n

Why did you choose to put precisely these four classic cars here?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘The idea was to put some totally different cars. They are all classics from the late 1950s to the late 1980s. This is my favorite era when it comes to cars. They are four completely different cars, but all iconic classics. First of all, the DB5: Obviously very well known from the James Bond film series. The Porsche 930 Turbo is known among enthusiasts as “The Widowmaker” because it is very dangerous to drive. With the Shelby GT350, there is also a muscle car. This is totally different from the other three cars on display. Finally, there is a Ferrari 250 GTE, where the magical Ferrari logo and Pininfarina design alone speak for themselves. The cars are all in top condition.’ <\/p>\n

What is the story of the Ferrari 250GTE?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘This car was originally delivered in France, to Mr. Albin Chalandon. Among other things, Chalandon was minister of justice in France. The car is number 142 of 299 250 GTE 2+2 series 1 cars delivered. The car was painted silver in 2019 by the then owner. It was fully restored between 2010 and 2021, during which it was also given back its original ‘Rosso Bordeaux’ paint. The car has so-called ‘matching numbers’, which means that the car still has the main parts delivered from the factory.  The car has a black leather interior – which, of course, is also completely original.’<\/p>\n

What is the story of the Shelby Mustang?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

‘This is a true original Shelby GT350, from the year 1965. To be exact, the car left the Shelby factory in May 1965, built as a prototype for the 1966 Shelby GT350. The car was thus tested a lot by the factory itself. When the car came into the possession of its Dutch owner in the 1980s, it was raced all over the world. In 2022 the car was bought by the previous owner, who prepared the car for the 2022 Targa Florio. In 2022, we actually took the car to the Targa Florio, without any problems.’ <\/p>\n

What is the story of the Porsche 930 Turbo?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This Porsche 930 Turbo was delivered new in the United States. The car has never been restored and also has matching numbers.  It was imported in 1993 by the first (and only) Dutch owner, who owned the car for 25 years. The color scheme is original, as is the black leather. All history of the car is documented and the car has recently had major maintenance. <\/p>\n

What is the story of the Aston Martin DB5?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The DB5 is, of course, quite an iconic car because of the James Bond film series. There the car can be seen in the color Silver Birch. Consequently, by far most DB5s have been delivered in this color. This car was delivered in the color Carribean Pearl, with original red leather interior. The car is from 1964 and has never been restored on the inside. It is a right-hand drive car, obviously originally delivered in England.  <\/p>\n

What exactly do you do with Real Art On Wheels and how did you get started?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

I started washing cars at a car collection once during my high school days. This was called Real Art on Wheels back then. During my studies, the amount of work I did for the company was already growing slightly. After my studies, I took over this company. Currently, we buy and sell the most special cars worldwide. These are mainly classic cars and limited models. We also have a workshop where we restore the cars. Originality and authenticity are important core values here. We find keeping classic cars original very important. <\/p>\n
