That&#8217;s why the new Opel Corsa GSE is driving around in camouflage for now. Not only to keep details hidden, but also as a style statement. The striking wrap refers to the sporty variants of the Corsa A from the 1980s, translated into a modern design.   <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Honoring Opel motorsports history<\/h2>\n<p>Andreas Kubis, Technical Lead Confidentiality and responsible for the camouflage of prototypes and pre-production models, says: &#8220;With the camouflage of the new Corsa GSE, we are combining classic design with an exciting, progressive look that emphasizes the spirit of our GSE models. The primary purpose of the camouflage, of course, is to avoid revealing all the details of the upcoming model too early. With the Corsa GSE, however, it was immediately clear that this &#8220;concealment&#8221; also had to convey a message. The sporty design with black, white and yellow accents makes you curious about this hot hatch and at the same time pays homage to Opel&#8217;s motorsports history.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/opel-corsa-gse-camouflage-2026-foto2-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-219412\"><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Chessboard<\/h2>\n<p>The matte black base underlines the performance-oriented character. Yellow and white stripes with GSE lettering give the car a distinct identity. Reminiscent of a chessboard, the pattern is complemented by double dotted lines that look like fine stitching. For connoisseurs, the reference is obvious. The sport seats of the first Corsa GSi from the late 1980s already had a recognizable stripe pattern. The lines on the bodywork of the new Corsa GSE are also inspired by the characteristic design of the first-generation Corsa SR and Corsa GT.     <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sports suspension<\/h2>\n<p>As expected with a performance version, the Corsa GSE gets a sports suspension with specific tuning of throttle response, steering and the ESC system to match the power output. During previous testing at the N\u00fcrburgring, the team focused on fine-tuning these elements to achieve the optimal set-up for the production model. This will be the most powerful series-produced Corsa to date. Count on 206 kW (280 hp) of power, 345 Nm of torque, an expected range of 350 km (WLTP) and a 0-100 time of around 5.8 seconds.
