That&#8217;s because the MEB+ platform offers enough freedom to vary nicely. Skoda&#8217;s Epiq looks more like a family crossover, Volkswagen&#8217;s ID.2 is intended for the general public with comfort and the Cupra Raval focuses more on sporty looks and ditto driving characteristics, because &#8220;EVs don&#8217;t have to be boring,&#8221; Cupra believes. By the way, the name Raval refers to El Raval, a creative and colorful neighborhood in Barcelona.   <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dimensions Cupra Raval<\/h2>\n<p>The Raval has a length of 4,046 mm, a width of 1,784 mm and a height of 1,518 mm. The wheelbase &#8211; the distance between the front and rear axles &#8211; comes out to exactly 2,600 mm. Especially considering its compact size, that&#8217;s a solid wheelbase, resulting in plenty of interior space. Cupra therefore says that the Raval&#8217;s interior space is comparable to cars from a higher class. The luggage compartment also stands out with a capacity of 430 liters.    <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/cupra-raval-bart-oostvogels-autorai-foto5-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"Luggage space Cupra Raval\" class=\"wp-image-218909\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Luggage space Cupra Raval<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Design Cupra Raval<\/h2>\n<p>The design really looks like a Cupra. In other words, a sharknose design, sharp creases, sporty voluptuous shapes and, of course, illuminated logos. The car is always on alloy wheels. The wheel size depends on the chosen variant and the option list. The wheels range in size from 17- to 19-inch. In total there are eight different designs to choose from (one 17-inch, two 18-inch and five 19-inch). For the exterior, Cupra has developed seven colors, including matte and metallic paints. One of the colors is the iridescent Plasma color that looks like Cyan, Blue, Indigo or Rose Red depending on viewing angle and light. The range of matte lacquers includes Manganese or Century Bronze. Plenty of room for personalization, then. For the roof, there is a choice of Manhattan Grey or Midnight Black colors to create a two-tone effect.          <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Interior<\/h2>\n<p>Then the interior of the Cupra Raval. There, of course, we detect several displays. You look out at a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen with Android OS. On the new Cupra steering wheel are physical buttons. Through these buttons you can actually control all functions in the car. Hooray! So no unnecessary distractions via a touchscreen.       Ambient lighting has also been thought of. You can choose from seven atmospheres. At the heart of the cockpit, the Smart Light Next Generation transforms lighting into a smart communication layer between car and driver. The light is integrated into the dashboard and linked to the driver assistance systems. You thus get visual feedback. Depending on the version, the Raval also has a wireless phone charger (15W) and several USB-C charging ports, including two in the rear.    <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/cupra-raval-bart-oostvogels-autorai-foto3-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"The dashboard of the new Cupra Raval\" class=\"wp-image-218907\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The dashboard of the new Cupra Raval<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technical talk<\/h2>\n<p>MEB+ was conceived with front-wheel drive in mind. Consequently, the Cupra Raval has exclusively front-wheel drive. Characteristic of the Raval is its sporty edge. For example, the car has a sports suspension lowered by 15 mm (compared to standard platform). The suspension is also tuned with a Cupra twist, think 10 mm wider track width compared to the basic platform, progressive steering for extra agility and ESC Sport. Dynamic Chassis Control additionally uses adaptive shock absorbers with up to 15 adjustable levels. This allows the driver to adjust the suspension from comfortable to very sporty. In Cupra mode, the dampers become stiffer, reducing body lean and improving dynamic response, Cupra promises.       <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">One Box<\/h2>\n<p>A first for Cupra is the so-called one box braking technology. In this, the braking system and ESC modules are combined. Thanks to this technology, according to its makers, the Raval offers improved pedal feel and braking performance combined with braking energy recovery. With this, the car brakes in terms of feel as if it were a car with only conventional friction brakes. In addition, the car is equipped with disc brakes all around.    <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/cupra-raval-bart-oostvogels-autorai-foto2-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"There is plenty of space available in the rear\" class=\"wp-image-218906\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">There is plenty of space available in the rear<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">One Pedal Driving: check!<\/h2>\n<p>The Raval also has a One Pedal Driving mode, which also allows the car to slow down to a stop. If you opt for the VZ top version, you also benefit from E-Launch. This system offers a race-start sensation through a coordinated sequence of immersive lighting, cockpit animation and a special interior sound. According to Cupra, this makes every acceleration from standstill an exciting moment. We&#8217;d like to test that sometime when we can drive. It&#8217;s too early for that now. By the way, the sound of E-Launch is inspired by the sound of Cupra&#8217;s Formula E car.      <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Different powertrains for Cupra Raval<\/h2>\n<p>The Cupra Raval comes to market with different powertrains. All versions do have a common denominator: the heart of the powertrain is the latest generation APP 290 electric motor, coupled with the PowerCo unified cell battery integrated into the bottom using cell-to-pack technology. Cupra supplies an LFP and NMC battery, both equipped with Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, which allows drivers to power external devices such as laptops or e-bikes directly from the car. Features of this variant include DCC Sport (Dynamic Chassis Control) suspension with increased stiffness (+5%), ESC OFF mode, 19-inch rims with wider 235 mm tires and an electronic limited slip differential. The electronic limited slip differential continuously monitors driving conditions via sensors and ensures the best torque distribution between the wheels for maximum traction. In addition, sport steering fuses with increased negative camber provide a more reactive, sporty and direct response to the front axle. With an output of 226 hp and 290 Nm of torque, the Raval VZ reaches a top speed of 175 km\/h and the 0-100 sprint takes less than 7 seconds. Exclusive VZ features include 3D-knitting upholstery, bucket seats and e-launch.     <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/cupra-raval-bart-oostvogels-autorai-foto6-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-218910\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">You can even watch Youtube in the car<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">All variants to order<\/h2>\n<p>Effective immediately, all versions of the Cupra Raval can be ordered from dealers. In addition to three regular trims &#8211; Essential, Business and Performance &#8211; the Raval comes simultaneously in three additional First Editions, namely the Business First Edition, Performance First Edition and the VZ Rebel. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cupra Raval <strong>Essential<\/strong> is the basic version<\/h2>\n<p>The lineup starts with the Cupra Raval Essential, with either an 85 kW (115) or 99 kW (135 hp) electric motor in combination with a 37 kWh battery pack, as desired. This Essential version is immediately very complete in terms of luxury, comfort and sportiness, with, for example, 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch for the 99 kW variant), Tri-LED design headlights, full LED lighting front and rear with 3D effect and integrated illuminated Cupra logo, a 12.9-inch multimedia screen with touchscreen, Adaptive Cruise Control with speed limiter, sport seats, a Cupra-designed multifunction steering wheel, Climate Control, Keyless Go, rear parking sensors, a Cupra sport suspension and recessed door handles. This variant costs 25,990 euros.  <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cupra Raval Business<\/h3>\n<p>The Cupra Raval Raval Business already gets the 99 kW (135 hp) powerful powertrain with 37 kWh battery as standard. In terms of equipment, in addition to the Essential it has, for example, 18-inch rims, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, Keyless Entry &amp; Go, Digital Key for opening, closing and starting the car with a smartphone, a wireless smartphone charger, heatable front seats including a heatable steering wheel, dark-tinted rear windows, electrically adjustable, folding and heatable exterior mirrors, alarm, towbar preparation and illuminated recessed door handles. Price tag: 29,990 euros. <\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cupra Raval Performance<\/h3>\n<p>The powertrain with 99 kW (135 hp) and 37 kWh battery is also at the heart of the Raval Performance. It raises the bar even higher in terms of sportiness with, among other things, 18-inch rims in matte black\/silver and electrically adjustable front bucket seats in Dinamica including memory function for the driver. Other highlights include Travel Assist 3.0 with Queue Assist, a Top View (360-degree) camera and Intelligent Park Assist &amp; Remote Parking. This version costs a minimum of 31,990 euros.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1280\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/cupra-raval-onthulling-2026-walkaround-06-1280x720.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-218881\"><\/figure>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">First Editions<\/h2>\n<p>By the way, Cupra kicks off during its market launch in summer 2026 with a Raval Business First Edition combined with 210 hp and 290 Nm of electric motor and 56 kWh battery, good for about 450 kilometers of range. Just that cheapest First Edition will cost another 32,990 euros, including delivery costs. That&#8217;s already 7,000 euros more than the price they want to communicate with. And prices go up even further if you choose other First Editions, such as the Cupra Raval Performance First Edition. Price tag: 34,990 euros. Or take the Raval VZ Rebel, the top version with 226 hp. That variant costs 37,990 euros in the Netherlands. The latter is already 12,000 euros above the entry-level model.       <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Raval Business First Edition (155 kW (210 hp) \/ 52 kWh)<\/strong>: the Raval Business First Edition is distinguished by rich equipment that includes the standard Fiord Blue exterior color, full LED lighting with 3D rear light bar with illuminated Cupra logo, 18-inch alloy wheels and front and rear parking sensors with reversing camera. In the interior, the standard electrically adjustable bucket seats stand out (including memory function for the driver), as well as seat and steering wheel heating, wireless smartphone charger, Keyless Advance and an audio system with six speakers. Price starting at 32,990 euros.  <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Raval Performance First Edition (155 kW (210 hp) \/ 52 kWh)<\/strong>: based on the same battery technology, the Performance goes one step further, with, for example, 19-inch alloy wheels with copper-colored accents, matrix LED headlights and front and rear parking sensors. Notable features in the interior include electrically adjustable bucket seats (including memory function for the driver), adjustable ambient lighting (Smartlight Next Generation), as well as seat and steering wheel heating, a connected navigation system, wireless smartphone charger and a Sennheiser Sound System with twelve speakers. In addition, the Performance First Edition gets a comprehensive package of driving assistance systems (ADAS), intelligent parking functions, Top View 360 camera, Travel Assist, Emergency Assist and the Smart Parking Assist. Price from34,990 euros.   <\/p>\n<p>&#8211; <strong>Raval VZ Rebel (166 kW (226 hp) \/ 52 kWh)<\/strong>: this First Edition is the ultimate expression of <em>electrifying performance <\/em>and the most powerful and performance-oriented version in the range, with an output of 166 kW (226 hp), torque of 290 Nm, a top speed of 175 km\/h and 0-100 km\/h in 6.8 seconds. It is equipped with the 52 kWh battery pack. As standard, the Raval VZ Rebel comes in Manganese Matte green and is distinguished externally by its 19-inch alloy wheels with &#8220;Sulfur&#8221; accents and wider 235 mm tires, exterior accents in &#8220;Sulfur&#8221; color and a fixed panoramic roof. It also offers CUP bucket seats with 3D-woven upholstery and takes the concept of sportiness to an even higher level with an electronic limited slip differential and the Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) with &#8216;ESC-off&#8217; function. Price from37,990 euros.    <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Warranty Cupra Raval<\/h2>\n<p>The First Editions of the Raval arrive in the Netherlands from mid-June, with the regular versions following from September\/October.
