The BMW S 1000 RR was the brand’s first ultimate supersport bike about 15 years ago. Since then, we are many model generations later. BMW is also quite active with a racing version of this powerbike in the World Superbike Championship. Now the development and design team is considering a successor. In any case, the concept version already reveals a lot. Quite a few parts made of carbon and aluminum and thus probably an even lower weight. <\/p>\n

Concept RR derived from M 1000 RR<\/h2>\n

The Concept RR is inspired by the M 1000 RR. And specifically from the factory superbike with which BMW rider Toprak Razgatlio\u011flu was able to dominantly win the FIM World Superbike Championship last year. BMW Motorrad is thus betting on direct technology transfer from track to street. <\/p>\n

Insight into future RR<\/h2>\n

More than 230 hp<\/h2>\n

Inside the frame of the BMW Concept RR we find a water-cooled four-cylinder in-line that produces more than 230 hp (169 kW). This is the same engine configuration as in the champion WSBK machine. Advanced systems such as engine management, traction control and engine braking control are taken directly from racing and provide ultimate control and efficiency. <\/p>\n

High-tech materials and aerodynamics<\/h2>\n

Low weight was a top priority in the development of the Concept RR. Using carbon and aluminum and innovative manufacturing techniques, every component has been optimized to perfection for weight and stiffness. The aerodynamically designed fairing, equipped with integrated winglets, contributes to both high top speed and stability at high speeds. Also notable is the illuminated RR symbol under the aluminum hood at the end of the seat. <\/p>\n

Focus on driving experience<\/h2>\n

The engineers kept the design as streamlined as possible. The air conduit even runs through the bike. The result: an unprecedented compact, aggressive-looking package that radiates cornering hunger. The brakes, of course, are of the highest level, tuned for both intensive road use and professional racing. <\/p>\n

Outlook<\/h2>\n

The Concept RR is a study model for now, but it leaves little to the imagination. BMW Motorrad is clearly committed to continuing its leadership position in the superbike segment – with a motorcycle that is as at home on the racetrack as it is on public roads. <\/p>\n
