Meanwhile, Opel has sold some 15 million Corsas worldwide since the model&#8217;s introduction in 1982. <\/p>\n<h2>Bestseller in Europe<\/h2>\n<p>The current Vauxhall Corsa has topped the sales rankings in the German B-segment for four years and was also No. 1 in the United Kingdom for three years in a row (2021-2023). In countries such as the Netherlands, Norway, Slovenia and Croatia, it is invariably among the top three. In Greece, the Vauxhall Corsa was even the best-selling car overall in 2023.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"828\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/opel-corsa-zesde-generatie-foto1-1140x828.jpg\" alt=\"STELLANTIS FIGUERUELAS, ZARAGOZA\" class=\"wp-image-198466\"><figcaption>STELLANTIS FIGUERUELAS, ZARAGOZA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>History of Opel Corsa<\/h2>\n<p>The Opel Corsa appeared on the market in 1982 with the <strong>first generation (Corsa A)<\/strong>, a compact hatchback with angular design, intended as a counterpart to small city cars like the Volkswagen Polo. The <strong>Corsa B<\/strong> followed in 1993, recognizable by its rounder lines and with more emphasis on safety and comfort. The <strong>third generation, the Corsa C<\/strong>, came in 2000 and became larger and more mature. This generation was popular for its versatility and modern look. In 2006, the <strong>Corsa D<\/strong> appeared, which shared much technology with the Fiat Punto and took another step forward in terms of finish and handling. The 2014 <strong>Corsa E<\/strong> further modernized the model with sleeker lines and better infotainment systems.     <\/p>\n<h2>Sixth (current) generation Opel Corsa<\/h2>\n<p>In 2019, Opel introduced the <strong>sixth generation, the Corsa F<\/strong>, for the first time under the leadership of the PSA group (now Stellantis). This generation came not only with combustion engines, but also as an all-electric variant: the <strong>Corsa-e<\/strong>, later renamed <strong>Corsa Electric<\/strong>. In 2023, this generation received a facelift, including the distinctive Opel Vizor front.
