The company focuses on the development and production of the latest generation of hybrid and fuel engines and systems. In addition to complete powertrains, Horse Technologies also produces engines, gearboxes, electric motors, batteries and power electronics systems.  <\/p>\n<h2>HR13 turbo engine<\/h2>\n<p>Caterham&#8217;s choice was the Horse 1.3-liter four-cylinder HR13 turbocharged engine. The arrival of turbocharged engines had previously been <a href=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/caterham-ceo-turbomotoren-interview-bob-laishley\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">confirmed<\/a>. The Horse powerplant will be used in the Caterham Academy car from 2026. The HR13 engine replaces the Ford Sigma engine used in the Caterham Academy series since 2008. Ford has stopped producing the Sigma engine.    <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/caterham-horse-samenwerking-1140x760.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-197133\"><\/figure>\n<h2>130 hp<\/h2>\n<p>Horse Technologies&#8217; 1.3-liter four-cylinder HR13 turbocharged engine is specially tuned for Caterhams and is expected to deliver 95 kW (130 hp) and maximum torque of 176 Nm at 5,150 rpm.<\/p>\n<h2>Matias Giannini<\/h2>\n<p>Matias Giannini, CEO of Horse Powertrain, said, &#8220;Caterham is an iconic brand in the automotive and racing world, with an incredibly rich history.
