Powertrain Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid<\/h2>\n
In the Ford Ranger Plug-in Hybrid, Ford combines a 2.3-liter EcoBoost gasoline engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 75 kW (102 hp) electric motor as well as an 11.8 kWh (usable) battery. It takes less than four hours to charge the battery using a 16-amp 1-phase charger. On paper, the model has an EV range of 43 kilometers. This, of course, decreases significantly with considerable charging. In practice, the pickup will be able to drive smaller distances fully electric. Strong is the powertrain though: torque comes out to 690 Nm and power is 205 kW (279 hp). <\/p>\n
Towing weight braked<\/h2>\n
The Ranger PHEV can carry a load of up to a ton and tow up to 3,500 kilograms with brakes. The model also has an e-4WD system, a low-gear transmission and a limited slip on the rear differential. The battery is mounted between specially designed frame rails for optimal approach, ramp and exit angles. Drivers of the Ranger PHEV can choose when and how to use battery power through Auto EV, EV Now, EV Later or EV Charge modes. <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Regenerative braking<\/h2>\n
Customers can also benefit from regenerative braking power and instant torque when towing heavy loads or performing off-road maneuvers on steep grades. Ford engineers also revised the wheel suspension tuning for greater comfort and more stable on- and off-road performance. <\/p>\n
Pro Power Onboard Technology<\/h2>\n
The Ranger PHEV’s Pro Power Onboard technology allows customers to power power power tools or a refrigerator and lights, for example, without needing a power generator. The system provides up to 2.3 kW as standard. <\/p>\n
Prices Ford Ranger PHEV<\/h2>\n
The Ranger PHEV can now be ordered in the Netherlands starting at 57,887 euros for the Wildtrak version. The top model is called Stormtrak. Additional equipment notes include matrix LED headlights, a multifunction sports bar, 360-degree camera, a premium B&O audio system with ten speakers, the Cargo Area Management System and Pro Power OnBoard 2.3 kW. The Ranger PHEV Stormtrak changes hands for 60,361 euros. First customer deliveries of the Ford Ranger PHEV are expected in mid-2025. <\/p>\n
