Rotterdam as frontrunner<\/h3>\n

Rotterdam-Rijnmond was the absolute leader this year. With 42 car fires, the fire department there had to turn out more often than in any other region. Utrecht (38 fires) and Haaglanden (30 fires) followed at a suitable distance. Notable was the blaze in smaller regions. In South Limburg and Groningen, firefighters had to turn out relatively often. In per capita terms, these areas were not inferior to the large cities. <\/p>\n

Record year<\/h3>\n

This year set a dismal record with 270 car fires during the turn of the year, the highest number since 2019. Last year’s figure was 230, and 2022-2023 saw 189 car fires, while 2021-2022 and 2020-2021 saw 203 and 221 car fires reported, respectively.
