To bolster their story, they even sent along a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/tUfbdidx3jA?si=gZA7S6WWZArzljt9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">video<\/a> showing the bear allegedly ravaging the car. The insurance company was not satisfied with the footage and became suspicious. A biologist, who was consulted to assess the behavior of the &#8220;bear,&#8221; quickly concluded that this behavior was unusual for a bear.   <\/p>\n<h3>More claims<\/h3>\n<p>During the investigation, other notable claims surfaced from the same individuals. Two other insurance claims, this time for damage to expensive Mercedes cars, told an identical story: a &#8220;bear&#8221; struck on the same day and location. The damage to these vehicles had already netted Americans $142,000 in insurance payments.    <\/p>\n<h3>Dress up  <\/h3>\n<p>In the end, the whole story turned out to be a carefully staged play. In an attempt to take substantial money from an insurance company, someone jumped into a bear suit and pretended to be the animal. How did they eventually get caught?
