Alpine A390_\u03b2 comes to Dream Garage<\/h2>\n
Following the A290 and ahead of the future electric A110, the Alpine A390_\u03b2 marks the second phase in Alpine’s Dream Garage, the triptych of sports cars with which Alpine is making the transition to all-electric propulsion.<\/p>\n
How the name is constructed<\/h2>\n
The name Alpine A390_\u03b2 follows Alpine nomenclature where an ‘A’ is followed by three digits. The digit ‘3’ represents the vehicle’s size, while ’90’ refers to models for daily and versatile use. The Greek letter ‘beta’ indicates that the vehicle is still in an intermediate stage of development before it is launched as a production model. In normal Dutch, we just call that a concept model, but Alpine uses the fancy term “beta. Of course, you have to stand out from the crowd in some way. <\/p>\n
Sports car in a tailored suit<\/h2>\n
The Alpine A390_\u03b2 offers a preview of a future production model. Just like the iconic A110. Alpine describes the model as a true “sports car in a tailored suit.” The A390_\u03b2 showcar takes its inspiration from the mountain massifs of the Alps. Natural elements such as rocks, minerals and snow form the basis for the design and choice of materials. <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
hefty wheels<\/h2>\n
The A390_\u03b2 show car’s wheel design is inspired by the crystalline properties of a snowflake. The 22-inch front and 23-inch rear wheels are accentuated by a cabochon in the center of the wheel, illuminated by a bluish halo reminiscent of jewelry. The transparent effect of the center flange, which resembles a thin layer of ice, highlights the Active Torque Vectoring feature in the background. <\/p>\n
A110 with five seats<\/h2>\n
“The A390_\u03b2 gives us a taste of the future Alpine ‘sport fastback,’ which we have designed as a five-seat A110. The duality between the racementality and refinement of this show car embodies the driving experience and performance that will be found in our production model, manufactured in France at the historic Dieppe plant from 2025. This is more than the promise of a fully Alpine experience; it is a true promise,” said Philippe Krief, CEO Alpine.<\/p>\n
