SEPP<\/h2>\n

The Electric Private Car Subsidy Scheme (SEPP) was introduced in 2020 and expires at the end of this year.
\nThrough this scheme, individuals can receive a 2,000 euro subsidy when purchasing a used electric car.
\nThe original budget was exhausted by the middle of this year, so the RFO <\/a>decided to release additional funds.
\nA total of 52.5 million euros is now available for 2024, of which almost 19.8 million euros remain. <\/p>\n

Rush for grant<\/h3>\n

Interest among individuals is once again enormous.
\nWithin days of the reopening of the subsidy pot, a good portion of the budget has already been claimed.
\nIf it continues at this rate, the additional budget will soon be depleted.
\nThe subsidy is intended for electric used cars that originally cost between 12,000 and 45,000 euros and can drive at least 120 kilometers on a full battery.
\nCars that fall outside these criteria are not eligible. <\/p>\n

Subsidy for new electric cars<\/h3>\n

Subsidies are also available for new electric cars, but there seems to be less enthusiasm for these.
\nThis year there is still 21 million euros available from a total budget of 57.9 million euros.
\nCompared to the subsidy for used electric cars, the application for new models is less stormy and it remains to be seen whether this pot will be depleted by the end of the year. <\/p>\n

Future SEPP scheme<\/h3>\n

This year is the last chance for individuals to take advantage of the SEPP scheme for used electric cars.
\nWhether there will be a new scheme after 2024 is still a big question mark.
\nThe new government does not seem particularly keen on it.
