awaited, finally arrived: the new BMW M5 Touring"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>BMW M5 Touring: as much as 1,000 Nm<\/h2>\n<p>So now, for the third time in the 40-year history of the BMW M5, customers will have the option of choosing a BMW M5 Sedan or Touring.<br \/>\nLike the sedan, the new M5 Touring is equipped with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.<br \/>\nTogether, the 4.4-liter V8 gasoline engine and the electric motor &#8211; as much as 145 kW (197 hp) strong with 280 Nm of torque (temporarily up to 450 Nm in the pre-gearing stage) &#8211; deliver a maximum system output of 535 kW (727 hp) with a peak torque of 1,000 Nm.<br \/>\nPower is transmitted to the road via the eight-speed M Steptronic transmission, M xDrive all-wheel drive, M active differential and M-specific suspension.<br \/>\nIn short: an impressive set-up.    <\/p>\n<h2>With four- or rear-wheel drive<\/h2>\n<p>In addition to the standard 4WD setting, drivers can also use the M Setup menu to select 4WD Sport mode.<br \/>\nThis sends proportionately more power to the rear wheels for a more dynamic driving experience.<br \/>\nChoosing the 2WD mode with the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system disabled allows experienced drivers to enjoy a particularly pure driving experience where all the power is sent to the rear wheels.  <\/p>\n<h2>Performance BMW M5 Touring<\/h2>\n<p>What about performance?<br \/>\nThe new BMW M5 Touring accelerates from 0 to 100 km\/h in 3.6 seconds.<br \/>\nThe standard limited top speed of 250 km\/h can be increased to 305 km\/h by the optional M Driver&#8217;s Package.<br \/>\nDriving on pure electric power is possible up to speeds of 140 km\/h.<br \/>\nThe high-voltage battery pack of the new BMW M5 Touring offers 18.6 kWh of usable energy.<br \/>\nThis makes an electric range of 61 &#8211; 67 kilometers achievable according to the WLTP test method.<br \/>\nThe Combined Charging Unit supports AC charging up to a rate of up to 11 kW with which the battery is fully charged in about 2.5 hours.      <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"855\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/bmw-m5-touring-2024-foto16-1140x855.jpg\" alt=\"BMW M5 Touring next to the BMW M5 Sedan\" class=\"wp-image-183539\"><\/figure>\n<h2>The practical M5<\/h2>\n<p>The cargo volume of the new BMW M5 Touring can be expanded from 500 to a maximum of 1,630 liters.<br \/>\nThe standard Comfort Access and automatic tailgate control allow easy loading and unloading.<br \/>\nThe maximum towing weight for the optional electrically retractable tow bar is 2,000 kilograms.<br \/>\nSo it&#8217;s fair to say that this new M5 Touring is exceptionally versatile and practical.   <\/p>\n<h2>Steerable rear axle<\/h2>\n<p>The BMW M5 is also equipped with a standard adaptive M suspension, featuring electronically controlled dampers and Integral Active Steering.<br \/>\nThe latter system allows the rear wheels to co-steer up to 1.5 degrees.<br \/>\nBy turning the rear wheels along at will, directional stability at high speed is improved.<br \/>\nBoth standard M Compound brakes and optional carbon ceramic brakes are combined with an integrated braking system that offers the driver two brake pedal settings.<br \/>\nM alloy wheels (20-inch on the front axle, 21-inch at the rear) are standard and can be optionally fitted with sport tires.    <\/p>\n<h2>Exterior colors BMW M5 Touring<\/h2>\n<p>Ten exterior colors will be available for the new BMW M5 Touring from its introduction.<br \/>\nThese include M Isle of Man Green metallic, M Marina Bay Blue metallic and BMW Individual Frozen Deep Grey metallic.<br \/>\nRight from the start, up to 150 colors will also become available through BMW Individual Special Request.  <\/p>\n<h2>Starting price BMW M5 Touring 2024<\/h2>\n<p>The new BMW M5 Touring will have its world premiere at Monterey Car Week in California in August 2024.<br \/>\nProduction at the BMW Group Factory Dingolfing will begin in November 2024.<br \/>\nThe main markets for the new BMW M5 Touring are Germany and the US.<br \/>\nIn the Netherlands, the BMW M5 Touring will have its market launch in early 2024 with a recommended retail price starting at 146,604 euros.<br \/>\nThe car is also
