With a high degree of automation and a strong focus on sustainability, Melfi remains a key figure in Stellantis&#8217; electrification strategy. <\/p>\n<h2>New Lancia Gamma<\/h2>\n<p>Lancia will build the 2026 Gamma on Stellantis&#8217; STLA Medium platform, a platform that also houses the Opel Grandland and Peugeot 3008. This platform supports various powertrain technologies, including mild-hybrid, hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric. Lancia CEO Luca Napolitano said the new Gamma symbolizes an important milestone in the brand&#8217;s renaissance. &#8220;The new Lancia Gamma embodies our commitment to sustainability and performance, while paying tribute to the unmistakable elegance that has defined Lancia for decades,&#8221; Napolitano said.   <\/p>\n<h2>Lancia Gamma: how it began<\/h2>\n<p>The Gamma name is not new to Lancia. The original Lancia Gamma was produced between 1976 and 1984 and was known for its unique design and technical innovations. This model was offered as a coupe and sedan and was equipped with the famous &#8220;boxer engine,&#8221; which was distinguished by its low center of gravity and smooth handling.
