{"id":147406,"date":"2024-09-06T16:42:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-06T16:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/all-car-news.com\/review-mercedes-benz-e-class-all-terrain-e-300-de-2024\/"},"modified":"2024-09-06T16:42:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-06T16:42:00","slug":"review-mercedes-benz-e-class-all-terrain-e-300-de-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/all-car-news.com\/en\/review-mercedes-benz-e-class-all-terrain-e-300-de-2024\/","title":{"rendered":"Review &#8211; Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain E 300 de (2024)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Adventurous edge<\/h2>\n<p>At Mercedes-Benz, the term &#8220;All-Terrain&#8221; refers to models with an adventurous edge.<br \/>\nCompare it to Audi&#8217;s &#8220;Allroad&#8221; label and Volvo&#8217;s Cross Country.<br \/>\nThe recipe is actually quite simple: you take a spacious station wagon as a base and give that model a rougher look and increase the suspension.<br \/>\nThe Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate All-Train is no exception.<br \/>\nCompared to the regular E-Class Estate, the All-Terrain is a bit taller.<br \/>\nIts length comes out to (4,950 mm).<br \/>\nThe width is 1,904 mm and the height 1,497 mm.<br \/>\nThe car comes standard on 235\/55 R18 tires with 8J x 18-inch rims.<br \/>\nOptional rims up to 20-inch are available.<br \/>\nThe smaller wheel size drives more comfortably, while the larger wheel size provides more dynamics.         <\/p>\n<h2>Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain<\/h2>\n<p>The Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain has a number of unique features.<br \/>\nConsider a grille with two slats integrating the famous star.<br \/>\nThe slats are finished in iridium silver.<br \/>\nThe front bumper has also been modified.<br \/>\nEn profil, the dark gray wheel arch trims in matte dark gray stand out.<br \/>\nAt the rear, a unique rear bumper stands out.      The interior features stainless steel AMG sports pedals and floor mats with &#8220;All-Terrain&#8221; lettering. Those who open the luggage door will detect loading sill protection in stainless steel look.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"731\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/mercedes-benz-e-klasse-all-terrain-2024-review-foto1-1140x731.jpg\" alt=\"Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain\" class=\"wp-image-184306\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Slightly less luggage space for PHEV<\/h2>\n<p>And speaking of that luggage space&#8230; The battery pack of a plug-in hybrid variant does gobble up some luggage space, as normally an E-Class Estate has a luggage space of 615 to 1,830 liters.<br \/>\nWith this plug-in hybrid diesel it is 460 to 1,675 liters.<br \/>\nStill more than enough storage space by the way, but still quite a difference.  <\/p>\n<h2>Four-cylinder, sometimes just two too few<\/h2>\n<p>This test car is an E 300 the 4MATIC All-Terrain.<br \/>\nAnd that can safely be called a fine powertrain.<br \/>\nAt times we do prefer a six-cylinder turbodiesel engine, but even this four-cylinder knows how to get good pace in this adventurous estate.<br \/>\nEspecially on the highway &#8211; if you cover longer distances &#8211; sometimes you would wish for two more cylinders.<br \/>\nOh well, we too understand that Mercedes-Benz has to downsize in some areas.<br \/>\nWhile driving, you also notice that this car has a sublime suspension.<br \/>\nThat really finishes this car.<br \/>\nIt may be slightly higher on its legs, but thanks to Airmatic air suspension, comfort is of an excellent level.       <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"695\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/mercedes-benz-e-klasse-all-terrain-2024-review-foto2-1140x695.jpg\" alt=\"Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain\" class=\"wp-image-184307\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Wonderful chassis<\/h2>\n<p>Airmatic air suspension is on both the front and rear axles. This system combines air-sprung bellows with adaptive ADS+ dampers for maximum responsiveness. The characteristics of the dampers are automatically adjusted at each individual wheel in both the input and output phases. In practice, count on about 70 to 80 kilometers. The car can drive fully electric up to a speed of 140 km\/h.<br \/>\nThose who drive electric that faster than 120 km\/h will find that the range decreases very quickly.<br \/>\nElectric driving is preferably done at lower speeds.<br \/>\nCharging the battery is very fast: with 3-phase 11 kW alternating current (AC) or 55 kW with direct current (DC).<br \/>\nIn the latter case, the battery is recharged from 10 to 80 percent in 20 minutes, good for 70 electric kilometers.<br \/>\nWith an 11 kW charging station, charging takes about two hours.       <\/p>\n<h2>A multi-talent<\/h2>\n<p>As far as we are concerned, this E 300 the 4MATIC All-Terrain is a multi-talent.<br \/>\nIt is super comfortable, nicely powerful, beautifully built and extremely spacious.<br \/>\nOne distracting factor is the overkill of noises and safety warnings, but that&#8217;s true of all car brands these days.<br \/>\nFortunately, a lot can be turned off, but you will have to do that every time.<br \/>\nAnyway, it is part of these times.<br \/>\nIn terms of the car, this Mercedes-Benz is an absolute delight, but for that money it should be.     <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Adventurous edge The term \"All-Terrain\" at Mercedes-Benz refers to models with an adventurous edge.
