BMW’s secret weapons<\/h2>\n

BMW has clearly not been idle.
\nWith a 34% increase in EV sales compared to the same period last year, the brand shows that it has its act together.
\nIn particular, the BMW iX1 did extremely well.
\nIn July, it was even BMW’s best-selling electric vehicle in all of Europe.
\nThe i4<\/a> was also in eager demand.
\nThe brand sold a total of 14,687 EVs in the month of July. <\/p>\n

Tesla<\/h2>\n

Tesla <\/a>, on the other hand, saw its sales drop 16% from July 2023.
\nThey still sold 15,216 cars, but that is significantly less than the previous year’s 18,025.
\nSo Tesla sold only 529 more EVs than BMW in July and is feeling the brand’s hot breath on its neck. <\/p>\n

Peaks<\/h2>\n

Tesla is known for often peaking sales at the end of each quarter.
\nIn June, for example, at the end of the second quarter, they sold a whopping 40,751 cars in Europe.
\nBMW, on the other hand, sold a more modest 14,835 units in that month.
\nBut in April, the first month of that quarter, the difference between the two was only 598 cars. <\/p>\n

Volvo on the rise, Volkswagen in trouble<\/h2>\n

Besides BMW, another brand that performed well in July was Volvo.
\nTheir sales increased by a whopping 265% thanks to their new small SUV, the EX30.
\nThis resulted in 10,953 EVs sold.
\nOn the other hand, Volkswagen had a month to quickly forget.
\nTheir sales fell 31% in July.
\nThe Germans sold 12,177 electric cars, which does still put them in third place, behind Tesla and BMW that is. <\/p>\n
