{"id":146857,"date":"2024-08-15T09:46:27","date_gmt":"2024-08-15T09:46:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/all-car-news.com\/ev-figures-so-many-electric-cars-on-the-road-in-the-netherlands\/"},"modified":"2024-08-15T09:46:27","modified_gmt":"2024-08-15T09:46:27","slug":"ev-figures-so-many-electric-cars-on-the-road-in-the-netherlands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/all-car-news.com\/en\/ev-figures-so-many-electric-cars-on-the-road-in-the-netherlands\/","title":{"rendered":"EV figures: so many electric cars on the road in the Netherlands"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>  Explosive increase since March 31, 2018<\/h2>\n<p>For imaging purposes, on March 31, 2018, there were 24,542 BEVs driving around in the Netherlands.<br \/>\nBy March 31, 2020, there were 112,141, and by March 31, 2022, as many as 259,510.<br \/>\nBy March 31, 2024, 464,539 electric cars already had Dutch license plates.<br \/>\nBut what is the current state of affairs?<br \/>\nThe latest figures are from July 31, 2024.<br \/>\nOn that reference date, there were <a href=\"https:\/\/duurzamemobiliteit.databank.nl\/mosaic\/nl-nl\/elektrisch-vervoer\/personenauto-s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">502,180 BEVs<\/a> driving around in the Netherlands.<br \/>\nThat&#8217;s more than half a million.<br \/>\nThat seems a lot, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bydauto.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electric car<\/a> has a 5.5 percent share in the Netherlands.       <\/p>\n<h2>Most popular segments<\/h2>\n<p>Equally interesting is the breakdown by segment.<br \/>\nWe limit ourselves to the A, B, C, D and E segments.<br \/>\nOn July 31, 2024, there were 24,188 electric A-segment cars driving around in the Netherlands.<br \/>\nIn the B-segment, there were 96,281.<br \/>\nBy far the most popular segment for BEV buyers is the C-segment.<br \/>\nOn July 31, 2024, there were 179,666 of them, shortly followed by the D-segment with 154,659 BEV registrations.<br \/>\nIn the E-segment, there were 47,386 electric cars driving around on the same date.      <\/p>\n<h2>Six popular electric cars in the Netherlands<\/h2>\n<p>Back for a moment to that total of 502,180 BEVs in the Netherlands.<br \/>\nAfter all, which electric cars are really popular in the Netherlands?<br \/>\nLooking at the Tesla Model Y, we count a total of 30,406 units until August 14, 2024.<br \/>\nOf the Tesla Model 3, that&#8217;s even 55,272 units already.<br \/>\nThe Volkswagen ID.3 is also popular, with 22,834 registrations.<br \/>\nThe Skoda Enyaq iV registers 19,403 units, the Nissan Leaf 15,556 units, and the Polestar 2 has 11,283 units on the road in the Netherlands.<br \/>\nGood, we have now mentioned six models.<br \/>\nTogether, these account for 154,754 units, about 31 percent of the total number of BEVs in the Netherlands.       <\/p>\n<h2>How do the Chinese do it?<\/h2>\n<p>So how are Chinese car manufacturers doing in the Netherlands?<br \/>\nOf the Xpeng G9, exactly 503 units are in circulation up to reference date August 14, 2024, almost equal to the MG Marvel R with 542 units.<br \/>\nSpeaking of MG, the MG ZS is the brand&#8217;s most popular model with 7,390 registrations as of August 14, 2024.<br \/>\nThe Nio ET7 has appeared 229 times in the Netherlands since that date.<br \/>\nOf the BYD Atto 3, 2,186 cars are involved.<br \/>\nMost electric cars are driven for business, through a lease arrangement, but individuals also know how to find the BEV through private lease.<br \/>\nYou can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bydauto.nl\/kenniscentrum\/private-lease\/bydlease\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lease<\/a> a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bydauto.nl\/kenniscentrum\/private-lease\/bydlease\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BYD from Louwman<\/a>, for example, or choose more general private lease provider.<br \/>\nIn that area the choice is vast, as is the range of electric cars.       <\/p>\n<h2>Further increase in EVs<\/h2>\n<p>The total number of 502,180 is expected to grow even further.<br \/>\nIn the period March 31, 2018 to July 31, 2024, the number of electric passenger cars in the Netherlands increased by 1946 percent.<br \/>\nWe are curious to see if there will be such a robust increase again in the next six years.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Explosive increase since March 31, 2018 For imaging purposes: on March 31, 2018, there were 24,542 BEVs driving around in&hellip;","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":146852,"comment_status":"","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[94,93],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-146857","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-background-en","category-car-news"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.2 -
