Two years ago, the model already received a major update in Korea, so it was only a matter of time before the Tucson would receive a series of major upgrades in Europe as well. On the outside, you will recognize the updated model by new bumpers, skidplates, rims and a redesigned grille. So no shocking changes. The two separate displays from the previous model have been replaced by two seamless screens, giving the appearance of one large screen. We already know this setup from the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6. Again, these are two 12.3-inch screens. In addition, the touch-sensitive buttons for climate control have given way to physical buttons. So while many brands are actually eliminating physical buttons from their interiors, Hyundai is reintroducing them. A development we can only welcome. Both variants are powered by a new 1.6 T-GDI Smartstream gasoline engine, combined with a powerful electric motor. For the Hybrid, that means a 1.6 T-GDI engine paired with a 60-hp electric motor powered by a 1.49 kWh battery, good for a system output of 215 hp and 350 Nm. The Plug-in Hybrid gets an extra boost with a 91 hp kW electric motor and a 13.8 kWh battery, providing 252 hp and 350 Nm of system power. Both versions feature Hyundai&#8217;s Continuously Variable Valve Duration (CVVD) technology, which the brand says provides improved engine performance and lower fuel consumption. The license plate reads &#8220;OF HY 861E.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Safety first<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Hyundai also continues to innovate in the area of safety. The updated SUV features seven airbags, including one between the front seats, and advanced driving assistance systems such as Surround View Monitor, Highway Driving Assist, Safe Exit Warning and Crosswind Stability Control.<\/p>\n<h2>N Line<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/autotest-hyundai-tucson-1-6-t-gdi-hybrid-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hybrid<\/a> and Plug-in Hybrid are now also available as N Line, the top trim with a sporty design inspired by motorsport. Features include more aggressive bumpers, exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels, body-color sideskirts and red accents. The interior features suede\/leather-look upholstery with red stitching, a sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals and various safety features. In all, there are execution levels: i-Motion, Comfort, Comfort Smart, N Line Edition, Premium and thus the N Line.<\/p>\n<p>The redesigned Hyundai Tucson will be in showrooms this summer and will be available starting at 43,995 euros.
