Other than the number in their model name, they have little else in common. The interior and exterior are different, and under the skin they also share few components. In a recent video, CEO Olivier Fran\u00e7ois outlined plans for a new variant. The Italians plan to deliver the electric <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9jvnjrY0b4s?si=YS94cnM0bkfhdVUl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fiat 500e<\/a> also with a hybrid powertrain.<\/p>\n<h2>Ibrida<\/h2>\n<p>The Fiat 500 Ibrida, &#8220;ibrida&#8221; is Italian for hybrid, will use the electrified 1.0-liter Firefly engine, known from the current Fiat 500 hybrid and the recently renamed Fiat Panda &#8220;Pandina. The reason why is simple: the <a href=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/5-redenen-waarom-de-fiat-500e-31-de-leukste-elektrische-auto-van-het-moment-is\/#:~:text=De%20elektrische%20variant%20voelt%20veel,meters%20als%20eerste%20weg%20bent.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fiat 500e <\/a>is a lot more modern than the current gasoline-powered 500. By adding a gasoline engine to the model, the brand can easily offer a new gasoline-powered 500. Fran\u00e7ois indicated that production of the 500 Ibrida is expected to begin in late 2025 or early 2026.<\/p>\n<h2>Italian tricolor<\/h2>\n<p>Production of the 500 Ibrida will take place at the Fiat plant in Mirafiori, Italy. During the video, Fran\u00e7ois repeatedly refers to &#8220;the Italian tricolor&#8221; and how it will be proudly incorporated into the 500 Ibrida&#8217;s logo. An obvious reference to the acrimony the brand recently had with the Italian government. The brand had to remove the tricolor from the Fiat 600e because it is not built in Italy.
