The new bumpers increase the length by 20 mm to 4,655 mm. The other dimensions &#8211; 1,890 mm width, 1,605 mm height and 3,000 mm wheelbase &#8211; remain unchanged. The exterior modifications also reduce drag, to which the rear spoiler extended by 50 mm and the new aerodynamic wheels also contribute.<\/p>\n<h2>Interior slightly modified<\/h2>\n<p>The interior is also being addressed in some ways. On the center console, and specifically in the upper part of the so-called Universal Island, there is a physical button that bundles the controls of frequently used functions, including the front seat heating and ventilation functions, the steering wheel heater and the parking assistance functions.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the pad for wireless smartphone charging has been placed higher in the center console, making it more accessible. The steering wheel is of a new design with interactive pixel lighting. Infotainment and air conditioning controls have been improved, making them more user-friendly.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/hyundai-ioniq-5-upgrade-2024-foto5-1140x570.jpg\" alt=\"Interior Hyundai IONIQ 5 2024\" class=\"wp-image-175347\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Latest generation infotainment<\/h2>\n<p>Hyundai is also introducing the latest generation of its infotainment system in the IONIQ 5, called connected car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC). This also enables &#8220;Over-The-Air&#8221; (OTA) software updates for vehicle systems. This allows the driver to update the vehicle electronics software in the IONIQ 5 without going to the dealer.<\/p>\n<h2>Driver assistance systems<\/h2>\n<p>Furthermore, the updated IONIQ 5 offers numerous safety and convenience-oriented features. Those include a Hands-On Detection (HOD) steering wheel, Lane Keeping Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2) and Forward\/Side\/Reverse Parking Collision-avoidance Assist (PCA-F\/S\/R). In addition, features desired by many customers are now part of the equipment, such as the Intelligent Front-lighting System (IFS), Digital Key 2, Built-In Cam 2 and the remote fold-down rear seat.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/hyundai-ioniq-5-upgrade-2024-foto4-1140x760.jpg\" alt=\"Hyundai IONIQ 5 2024\" class=\"wp-image-175346\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Modified shock absorbers<\/h2>\n<p>Other shock absorbers should provide greater driving comfort by filtering out vibrations from the road surface. This results in a smoother ride. The connecting bar between the struts is sturdier, resulting in less vibration in the steering wheel. Furthermore, reinforcements were added at the rear suspension and lower parts of the body for more stable and precise roadholding.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, the body was made stiffer to further reduce resonance of low-frequency noise and the already low drive noise. Additional insulation material around the rear electric motor also contributes to more tranquility in the interior.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/hyundai-ioniq-5-upgrade-2024-foto1-1140x760.jpg\" alt=\"Hyundai IONIQ 5 2024\" class=\"wp-image-175343\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Reinforcements Hyundai IONIQ 5<\/h2>\n<p>Occupant protection in a side collision has been enhanced with targeted reinforcements in the body, front and rear doors and B-pillars. The IONIQ 5 features eight airbags, including rear side airbags, for added safety.<\/p>\n<h2>Market launch<\/h2>\n<p>The updated IONIQ 5 will be introduced in South Korea during March. This will be followed by the rollout to other markets, including the Netherlands.
