Sometimes they are driven on race tracks. A race is called an E-Prix. Eleven teams have signed up for the 2023\/24 season, all with two cars and two drivers. That means there will be 22 cars on the grid every race.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/08-Wegwijs-in-nieuwe-Formula-E-seizoen-Nissan-zet-de-feiten-op-een-rij-1140x760.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-172428\"><figcaption> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Race format<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Each Formula E event has two practice sessions: an opening 30-minute session on the Friday before the race, followed by another half-hour on Saturday. Most events take place on a single day to minimize disruption to the host city. Some events last two days with double the amount of action. These are called double-headers.<\/p>\n<p>Charging the car is prohibited during both qualifying and the race, as well as throughout the Parc Ferm\u00e9 and technical inspection. Teams can charge the cars between sessions and during practice sessions. It is the most efficient race car in the world. Compared to the Gen2, the Gen3 has up to 40 percent higher system power. A 350 kW (470 hp) electric motor on the front axle and a 250 kW (340 hp) electric motor on the rear axle together generate a peak power output of 600 kW (816 hp). Compared to the Gen2, the Gen3 has a significantly higher top speed (322 km\/h) and a 60 kilogram lower weight. The drivers&#8217; title is awarded to the driver who has accumulated the most points during the season. The team title is determined by the combined score of each team&#8217;s drivers throughout the season. The organization uses a point system in which only the top 10 are awarded points.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&nbsp;  1st &#8211; 25 points<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  2nd &#8211; 18 points<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  3rd &#8211; 15 points<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  4th &#8211; 12 points<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  5th &#8211; 10 points<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  6th &#8211; &nbsp;&nbsp;8 points<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  7th &#8211; &nbsp;&nbsp;6pts<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  8th &#8211; &nbsp;&nbsp;4pts<\/li>\n<li>&nbsp;  9th&nbsp; &#8211; &nbsp;2pts<\/li>\n<li>10th &#8211; &nbsp;&nbsp;1pt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional points are also awarded. The driver who starts at the front, from Julius Baer Pole Position, takes three additional points. During the race, the driver who completes the fastest lap also receives one additional point. The driver must then finish in the top-10 to achieve the TAG Heuer fastest lap. If not, the driver in the top-10 with the next fastest lap gets the honor.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Nissan and Formula E<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Nissan debuted in season 5 (2018\/19) of the Formula E championship. The brand thus became the first and only Japanese manufacturer to participate in this championship. Since 2022, the racing team has been part of the Nissan organization under the name Nissan Formula E Team.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/10-Wegwijs-in-nieuwe-Formula-E-seizoen-Nissan-zet-de-feiten-op-een-rij-1140x760.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-172430\"><figcaption> <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>Valuable knowledge<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Participation in the Formula E championship helps Nissan further develop current and future battery-electric production models. All the knowledge gained during races &#8211; for example, about battery and fast-charging technology and regeneration systems &#8211; is translated into roduction models.  <\/p>\n<p>Nissan&#8217;s&nbsp;goal is to be<sub>carbon-neutral<\/sub> from 2050, which involves both the production of cars and their use. All<sub>carbon emissions<\/sub> from the previous season are offset. That includes emissions from both racing, and all logistics and production operations. For this, the team is working with Vaxa Technologies, an innovative biotech company in Iceland. The company produces Ultra Spirulina using geothermal heat.
