Car sales were brisk in 2023, RAI Association<\/a> figures show. A whopping 369,791 new passenger cars were officially registered last year, representing a 19 percent increase over the previous year. Only 312,129 new passenger cars were registered in the Netherlands in 2022. In that year, Kia managed to sell 30,036 cars in our country, making the brand by far the best-selling car brand in the Netherlands. This year, Volkswagen takes the lead as the best-selling car brand, with 34,958 registrations. <\/p>\n

  5. Skoda (20,498 registrations with 5.5 percent market share)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Top 5 best-selling cars 2023<\/h2>\n

    The best-selling model is not from the Wolfsburg camp, but it does have a German connection. Not that it has its cradle there, but that is where it is assembled for the European market – at the Gigafactory in Berlin. We are, of course, talking about the Tesla Model Y. A whopping 13,758 units arrived in our country last year. The entire top five:<\/p>\n

    5. Kia Niro (7,412 registrations with 2 percent market share<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Top 5 best-selling electric cars 2023<\/h2>\n

      In the Netherlands, we love electric driving. That’s why we also take a look at the best-selling electric cars. Of course, the Model Y tops the list, but other electric models also did extremely well in our little country. Volvo continues to impress with the XC40<\/a> – recently updated – while Peugeot continues to score with the e-208<\/a>, also recently updated.<\/p>\n
