Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II<\/h2>\n
Hans Werner Aufrecht has a large private collection, of which this Mercedes-Benz E190 Evo II is a part. In full, the model is called Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II, but colloquially we just talk about the Evo II. It is extremely special and rare appearance based on the then 190. Only 502 of them were made.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n
Homologation purposes<\/h2>\n
The model was designed for homologation purposes for the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM). The EVO II is notable for its aggressive aerodynamic package, including a large rear wing and a distinctive body kit that not only gives the car a unique look, but also offers functional advantages on the track.<\/p>\n
Strong powertrain<\/h2>\n
Mercedes-Benz used advanced technologies in the Evo II, including an advanced suspension system and a powerful 2.5-liter, 16-valve engine. This M 102 E 25\/2 powerplant kicks out to 235 horsepower and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The top speed is as high as 300 km\/h.<\/p>\n
Mercedes-Benz 190 Evo II: particularly beloved<\/h2>\n
The Mercedes-Benz 190 Evo II has achieved cult status in the automotive community. Due to its limited production, racing heritage and iconic status, the Evo II continues to increase in value, making it an excellent investment for car enthusiasts and collectors. So Hans Werner Aufrecht had better be very careful about it. An alternative to the Evo II? A BMW M3 E30, preferably the Sport Evo.<\/p>\n
