At the same plant, production of the Dodge Charger and Challenger has now come to an end. These models were in production for nearly two decades.<\/p>\n<p>The Dodge Charger&#8217;s last breath came in the form of a Scat Pack Widebody, cloaked in the color <em>destroyer gray<\/em>. The Challenger&#8217;s farewell tour ended with a stunner &#8211; the SRT Demon 170 in<em> pitch black<\/em>. Under the hood of the Demon roars a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that hurls a staggering 1,025 horsepower onto the road.<\/p>\n<h2>Renovation<\/h2>\n<p>The Brampton plant is currently undergoing an intensive retooling process that will take as much as two years. Once the doors reopen in late 2025, the focus will shift to production of the next-generation Jeep Compass and cars that stand on the new STLA medium platform. This platform is suitable for both internal combustion engines and battery-electric powertrains.<\/p>\n<h2>New Charger and Challenger<\/h2>\n<p>Meanwhile, the legacy of the Charger and Challenger continues in a new form. Production of the next generation of Dodge muscle cars is moving to the Windsor Assembly Plant, more than 300 kilometers away. These upcoming models are on the STLA platform just mentioned and feature either a Hurricane six-cylinder engine or an all-electric powertrain.  <\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"American icons Not long ago, we reported on the final farewell to the Chrysler 300, also assembled in Canada.
