One of the leading hatchbacks, the Fiesta has played an important role in the compact, affordable car segment since its debut in 1976. Now that the end is near for the Fiesta, it&#8217;s time to look back at the last generation.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Variants<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The seventh-generation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gaspedaal.nl\/ford\/fiesta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ford Fiesta<\/a> debuts in 2016 with three or five doors. The five-door hatchback is the practical variant; the three-door has a more sporty look. That three-door hatchbacks are a dying breed is also evident in the Fiesta; this variant will disappear from the range in 2019.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Active<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With the debut of the seventh-generation Fiesta, Ford immediately unveils the adventurous-looking Active. This variant comes only with five doors and a trio of gasoline engines, namely the 95, 100 or 125 hp versions of the 1.0 EcoBoost. The Fiesta Active stands higher on its legs than the regular model and features black plastic wheel arches, redesigned bumpers and guards.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>face lift<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Ford Fiesta goes under the knife for a well-deserved facelift in 2021. Among other things, the compact hatchback receives a new nose, very reminiscent of that of the Focus. LED lighting is standard on the Fiesta after the facelift; matrix LED lighting is optional. The instrument cluster will be replaced by a 12.3-inch digital one.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Versions<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The seventh-generation Ford Fiesta came with a variety of engines. For gasoline, one has a choice of two types of engines: an atmospheric 1.1-liter three-cylinder good for 70, 75 or 85 hp, or a blown 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder that produces 95, 100 or 125 hp. There is also another 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel that produces 85 hp. The diesel will disappear from the range in 2020. Gasoline engines become more fuel-efficient that same year thanks to the introduction of mild-hybrid technology, available on the 125-hp variant.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Fiesta ST<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Those who go for an ST will discover the Ford Fiesta in its ultimate form. This high-performance version has a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine with as much as 200 horsepower &#8211; with cylinder deactivation. With this, the front-wheel-drive hot hatch is capable of speeding from 0 to 100 km\/h in 6.7 seconds. At the same time, you can drive the Fiesta ST surprisingly economically, as long as you keep your right foot in check.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Equipment levels<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Ford Fiesta comes in several flavors, with some offering more luxury features than others. At the bottom of the ladder is Trend, above that you will find (in order) Connected, Titanium, Titanium X and the luxurious Vignale. The equipment levels incrementally offer more complete standard equipment than its predecessor. The Fiesta is also available as ST-Line or ST-Line X, which are sporty-looking versions offered with regular engines.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Still a successor?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Fiesta name may return, but Ford can neither confirm nor deny that at this time. For now, the curtain has come down on the model, but that doesn&#8217;t necessarily mean Ford is also saying goodbye to the name for good.
