Thus, the wheels are 140 mm further apart at the front and 155 mm at the rear compared to the standard Toyota Hilux. In addition to the increased track width, ground clearance has also been increased by 20 mm.  <\/p>\n<p>An increase in the approach angle from 29 degrees to 30 degrees should provide even better off-road capabilities. A monotube shock absorber replaces the current twin-tube solution and offers better damping performance and faster response in tough conditions thanks to the larger damper area, the manufacturer promises.<\/p>\n<p>The new lighter 17-inch rims are fitted with all-terrain tires to improve grip and overall stability. Therefore, cosmetic changes have also been made. For example, the Toyota Hilux GR Sport II gets a brand new bumper with a functional fog lamp housing that optimizes drag and reduces turbulence in the wheel arches. Future software refinements or upgrades are seamlessly downloaded over-the-air, via the car&#8217;s data communication module (DCM)<\/p>\n<h2>The engine: a 2.8 turbo diesel<\/h2>\n<p>A 2.8-liter engine, which has been in the Hilux lineup since 2020, delivers 150 kW (204 hp) and 500 Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Shift paddles behind the wheel allow for self-shifting.
