A “grande finale” of the illustrious Triumph Thruxton is upon us. Triumph stops production of its cafe racer. The final production run is underway and after this year (2023) it will be over for the Thruxton. But the “finalist” is a special model with fine Competition Green paintwork, hand-painted gold details, special badge and a certificate of authenticity.<\/p>\n

Triumph Thruxton with certificate<\/h2>\n

That certificate comes with it. It is a document that may in time ensure value preservation of the Triumph Thruxton Final Edition. On it are the vehicle identification number (VIN) and signatures of the design team and of Nick Bloor, Triumph’s ceo. Okay, the price for this special is hefty. You have the Final Edition starting at 21,195 euros.<\/p>\n

\"Triumph<\/p>\n

Derivative of Triumph Bonneville<\/h2>\n

The Thruxton originated in 1964 as a derivative of the then Triumph Bonneville. With a low “clip-on” handlebar and short “racing” buddy seat, plus some other sporty components, a racer was constructed at the time, in a limited edition. The exclusive bike became a success in endurance racing. On this machine, riders captured all three podium finishes at the 1969 Thruxton 500-mile race. Shortly thereafter, the Thruxton became the first production machine at the Isle of Man TT, averaging over 160 mph on the Mountain Course.<\/p>\n

Torquey engine block<\/h2>\n

The Triumph Thruxton Final Edition has a twin-cylinder 1,200cc engine. The block produces 105 hp at 7,500 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. So riding nicely torquey at low revs, enjoying a wonderful exhaust rumble while steering along winding country roads with a motorcycle that weighs close to 220 kg fully tanked. High-quality \u00d6hlins suspension and fine M50 Brembo brakes support you in this regard.<\/p>\n

Hand-painted details<\/h2>\n

So the Final Edition can be recognized by the aforementioned Competion Green green paint and matching hand-painted gold details on the tank and pillion seat cover. The stunning deep green contrasts nicely with the black sheen of the side panels and fenders – with an exclusive Thruxton Final Edition logo adorning those side posts. Especially for the Final Edition, a top fairing is also available as an accessory, in a color that perfectly matches the unique Competition Green paint job.<\/p>\n
