The softening of growth fits the picture that BOVAG and RAI Association have been painting for some time: this is mainly a final catch-up of the number of open sales orders from 2022.<\/p>\n<h2>Registration of new passenger cars<\/h2>\n<p>This is not about sales, but about registration of new passenger cars. Not as many new orders are being recorded at the moment, but mostly delivered. Although the number of registrations has been solidly on the rise all year, that now seems to be slowly coming to an end. The last backorders are being caught up and the showrooms are full again.  <\/p>\n<p>Still, consumers are expectant. BOVAG and RAI Association note that mainly the choice for an electric car is more often postponed until there is more certainty about future incentives.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>TOP 5 REGISTERED CAR BRANDS IN AUGUST 2023<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>1. Kia (2,937 registrations, 10.6% market share)<br \/>2. Volkswagen (2,462 registrations, 8.9% market share)<br \/>3. Toyota (2,454 registrations, 8.8% market share)<br \/>4. Tesla (1,992 registrations, 7.2% market share)<br \/>5. Peugeot (1,618 registrations, 5.9% market share)<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<h3>TOP 5 REGISTERED CAR MODELS IN AUGUST 2023<\/h3>\n<p>1. Tesla Model Y (1,228 registrations, 4.4% market share).<br \/>2. Kia Picanto (1,066 registrations, 3.8% market share)<br \/>3. Peugeot 208 (911 registrations, 3.3% market share)<br \/>4. Tesla Model 3 (750 registrations, 2.7% market share).<br \/>5. Kia Niro (681 registrations, 2.5% market share<\/p>\n<h2>Two winners?<\/h2>\n<p>So Kia wins when it comes to total registrations and Tesla wins at the model level with the Model Y.
