Rimac Energy<\/h2>\n

The Rimac Energy team has been steadily building over the past 18 months as a specialized team within Rimac Technology and now consists of 60 employees – all currently working on first-generation energy storage systems<\/a>, or ESS (Energy Storage Systems) for short.<\/p>\n

New battery architecture<\/h2>\n

Rimac Energy says it has created a new battery architecture that reduces efficiency losses by up to 50% while reducing the system’s carbon footprint by up to 40% compared to current solutions. Additional technological advantages include improved service life, built-in redundancy for increased availability, as well as competitive material and installation costs.<\/p>\n

Not yet for individuals<\/h2>\n

Initially, Rimac Energy will provide solutions for large commercial, industrial and utility applications, with battery-buffered solutions. The company currently has several projects under discussion, including a pilot with a leading renewable energy company to provide battery storage solutions for their solar and wind power plants.<\/p>\n

These pilot systems are expected to be produced by the end of 2023 and commissioned in 2024. Mass production is expected to begin in 2025, continuously scaling up production capacity with annual output of more than 10 GWh.<\/p>\n

Tesla energy storage<\/h2>\n

Tesla is working on similar solutions, but unlike Rimac is targeting the private market with its Tesla Powerwall<\/a>. That’s a Tesla home battery on your wall. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
