Under the leadership of Rapha\u00ebl Linari (head of Alpine design), Lionel Chevalier (Signatec technical director) and Fran\u00e7ois Letort (Signatec project manager) &#8211; a thoroughbred racing machine has been developed that has been dubbed the most extreme A110 ever.<\/p>\n<h2>Imposing rear wing<\/h2>\n<p>Striking features of the Alpine A110 Pikes Peak are the intensely pronounced splitters and deflectors of the front spoiler and, of course, the imposing rear wing for much-needed downforce in the 156 turns in the thin air. The radical modifications to the A110R that serves as its base can also be seen in the side skirts, the rear diffuser and the intake on the roof to force air into the engine. Partly as a result, the power output of the powerplant reaches nearly 367 kW (500 hp). Specific work was also done to reduce the car&#8217;s weight to just 950 kg.<\/p>\n<p>Alpine&#8217;s designers have fully embraced the extreme choices while maintaining the original proportions to qualify for the Time Attack 1 category. This framework also includes a shark fin mounted on the rear window that cuts through the two-piece rear wing, so to speak.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/alpine-a110-pikes-peak-2023-foto8-1140x570.jpg\" alt=\"Alpine A110 Pikes Peak\" class=\"wp-image-157693\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Winking at the 24 Hours of Le Mans<\/h2>\n<p>The A110 Pikes Peak&#8217;s lights have also been designed more aggressively. The two LED circles at the front have been replaced by slim, laser-cut bars. Also the light functions of the taillight units rearranged into three vertical segments on the rear wing and central end of the shark fin, as a nod to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The rear lights also enhance the visual breadth of this Alpine A110, as do the custom wheels.<\/p>\n<h2>June 2023<\/h2>\n<p>The unique Alpine A110 will compete on the American mountaintops in June 2023 to break records. Following the debut of the A110 Pikes Peak at Lurcy-L\u00e9vis last April 25-26, the model will be tested next week in its final configuration by chosen Pikes Leak driver Rapha\u00ebl Astier.<\/p>\n<p>Astier, winner of the 2022 FIA R-GT Cup with the A110 Rally, will first complete a test session in the Dr\u00f4me and then in Val Thorens. The French driver who has participated in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb four times before will then fly with the team to Colorado Springs for final preparations before the race next June 25.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"570\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/alpine-a110-pikes-peak-2023-foto2-1140x570.jpg\" alt=\"Alpine A110 Pikes Peak\" class=\"wp-image-157687\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Test days successful<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Fran\u00e7ois Letort, Alpine A110 Pikes Peak project manager:  <\/strong>&#8220;The Alpine A110 Pikes Peak pushes the limits of our imagination far beyond what we could have imagined in the early stages of the project. It was a pleasure to work with the designers at Alpine, with whom we were soon on the same page thanks to our in-house expertise and ability to be incredibly responsive. These are the strengths of our core business, and we could count on a network of local suppliers and subcontractors who were attentive to our needs.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The first two days of testing went very smoothly. The Alpine A110 Pikes Peak met all the targets set, a remarkable achievement in such a short development time. We are therefore proud to unveil a spectacular model, both visually and in terms of performance.
