Skoda Superb<\/h2>\n

So far, the Superb and Kodiaq have been very successful for Skoda. The name “Superb” was previously used in the 1930s for Skoda’s top model of that era. Skoda’s first generation of the current Superb sold nearly 137,000 cars between 2001 and 2008.<\/p>\n

It was the first Skoda model with high-tech features such as bi-xenon headlights, the Tiptronic automatic transmission and the Coming Home function. Its successor appeared in 2008 and was the first to also offer customers the option of all-wheel drive. The Superb Combi that followed in 2009 further increased demand for Skoda’s flagship model. A total of 618,000 second-generation Superbs found their way to customers.<\/p>\n

Body styles<\/h3>\n

The third generation, which debuted in February 2015, offered even more space for occupants and their luggage in both body styles. It was also more fuel efficient, recorded lowerCO2 emission values<\/sub> and introduced innovative driving assistance systems for added safety. <\/p>\n

The premium model was renewed in 2019, with the Superb iV version becoming \u0160koda’s first plug-in hybrid model. So far, more than 777,000 units of this third generation of the Superb have been delivered to customers.<\/p>\n

Skoda Kodiaq<\/h2>\n

The Kodiaq, which kicked off Skoda’s successful SUV offensive in 2016, has already made it to over 740,000 cars so far. The model, which can also optionally come with seven seats, introduced Skoda’s signature crystalline design language to the SUV segment. The sporty Kodiaq RS followed in 2018, while the full range received a model update in 2021. <\/p>\n

Future Skoda Kodiaq and Superb<\/h2>\n

“The Superb and Kodiaq are two important pillars of the Skoda brand, which makes it extra special for us to present the new generations of both models this fall,” explained Klaus Zellmer, CEO of \u0160koda Auto. “The Superb is the top model within our ICE portfolio, and this new, fourth generation also continues to set the benchmark in terms of comfort and space, both in hatchback and Combi variants. The second-generation Kodiaq takes safety, technology and versatility to an even higher level. We continue to offer the best of both worlds and deliver to our customers what they ask for. That’s why both models come standard with mild-hybrid technology and a plug-in hybrid is also among the powertrain options.”<\/p>\n

First sketches<\/h2>\n

The sketches \u0160koda shared today show the silhouette of the new models. In addition to a new exterior design, all models get new features, improved technology and a completely redesigned interior. The fourth generation Superb will again be available as a hatchback as well as a very spacious Combi. The new generation of the top model will be produced at the Volkswagen Group plant in Bratislava, Slovakia. Production of the new Kodiaq is scheduled to begin at the \u0160koda plant in Kvasiny, Czech Republic, where its predecessor also currently rolls off the production line.<\/a><\/p>\n

Skoda is also coming out with six new battery-electric cars.
