72 SunLike LEDs<\/h2>\n

The interior of the Volvo EX90<\/a> is illuminated with near-sunlight via a full package of 72 SunLike LEDs. Volvo’s designers wanted to strengthen the connection with nature, both by day and by night. The SunLike LEDs – supplied by Seoul Semiconductor – should help.<\/p>\n

Special LED lighting<\/h2>\n

The special LED lighting complements the panoramic roof and open cabin. Volvo says, “The new, non-flickering light addition enables more natural color expression beyond what is currently achievable with LED lights used in the automotive industry. This results in low light reflection and a high color index that express natural colors as seen in nature.”<\/p>\n

“By using the light spectrum of the SunLike LEDs, the innovative materials and interior design of the Volvo EX90 come out more clearly, without color distortion,” says Dan Fidgett, Head of Colour & Materials. “Complementing our wood deco and other natural materials in the cabin, lamps are central to our Scandinavian design language.”<\/p>\n

Hospitals<\/h2>\n

While SunLike lighting is already being used to bring natural light to living spaces, hospitals, schools, museums and landscaping applications, the Volvo Car Group is the first to introduce the LEDs in the Polestar 3<\/a> and the Volvo EX90. All non-decorative lights in the interior of the Volvo EX90, whether placed on the ceiling, floor, door compartment or trunk, come standard with SunLike LEDs.<\/p>\n

Less tiring<\/h2>\n

The special lighting has other advantages. The suppression of blue light combined with the non-flickering light of cabin lamps can help reduce eyestrain and headaches associated with such exposure.<\/p>\n
