The RML Short Wheelbase is inspired by the legendary Ferrari 250 SWB, but a Ferrari creation it is not. Except for the engine, which is a glorious 5.5-liter Ferrari V12 with 479 horsepower, mated to a six-speed manual transmission and limited slip differential. Yummy!<\/p>\n<h2>hefty price tag<\/h2>\n<p>RML combines classic styling with modern technology. Only thirty copies see the light of day. All the cars are forgiven. Each customer pays 1.35 million pounds plus taxes. Production of the cars is now in full swing. RML is now sharing the first photos of the first production run of four cars. Unique to the RML Short Wheelbase is the carbon fiber body that weighs only 42.5 kilograms. Producing a car takes about nine months.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"761\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/rml-short-wheelbase-productie-foto3-1140x761.jpg\" alt=\"RML Short Wheelbase\" class=\"wp-image-154634\"><\/figure>\n<h2>The CEO speaking<\/h2>\n<p>Construction is progressing well, according to RML. Indeed, the first customer car will be delivered as early as the end of April 2023. &#8220;Each Short Wheelbase is built by hand,&#8221; states Michael Mallock, CEO of RML. &#8220;But we also use the most advanced technology to ensure that the build quality meets the very highest levels. All parts are laser cut to minimize deviations from specification. The mold we use only allows a maximum tolerance of 0.25 mm, which means that all 30 cars in our production run will be produced to a consistently high standard.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The RML Short Wheelbase will be seen in action for the first time at the Goodwood Members&#8217; Meeting on April 15 and 16. For example, Nissan approached the <a href=\"https:\/\/rmlgroup.com\/rml-swb\/short-wheelbase\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">British company RML<\/a> to build the world&#8217;s first &#8220;super crossover,&#8221; the JUKE-R, based on the Nissan Juke and with the powertrain of the Nissan GT-R. RML has continued to enjoy many successes in motorsports, including in the WTCC and BTCC.
