Alpine A110 San Remo 73<\/h2>\n

Alpine has been sprinkling limited editions of the successful A110 lately. Another Alpine A110 Tour de Corse 75 appeared in 2022. Now the French sports car manufacturer comes out with the Alpine A110 San Remo 73.<\/p>\n

Original Caddy Blue<\/h2>\n

The design of the limited edition is inspired by the Alpine A110 that won the 1973 Rallye Sanremo. The body is finished in Original Caddy Blue color, combined with black roof pillars and a red carbon fiber roof. Thus, the A110 San Remo 73 refers to the legendary colors of the classic 1973 Berlinette.<\/p>\n

Black and white graphics on the doors complement the San Remo 73 markings on the front cover, doors and rear bumper. The car is further dressed up with 18-inch Grand Prix wheels in Brilliant Blanc color, anthracite-colored Brembo brake calipers, black-rimmed headlights and Alpine emblems and monograms done in black.<\/p>\n

Interior<\/h2>\n

The interior of the Alpine A110 San Remo 73 features a cockpit upholstered in microfiber fabric with gray stitching, Sabelt Racing bucket seats with World Champion 73 decoration and mounting points for six-point racing belts. Sport pedals, aluminum passenger footrest and Alpine floor mats complete the sporty rally atmosphere. The door panels feature two black and white stripes.<\/p>\n

300 hp strong<\/h2>\n

Powering the Alpine A110 San Remo 73 is a 300-hp 1.8-liter turbocharged gasoline engine<\/a>. As mentioned, Alpine is building two hundred units. These are all numbered from 1 to 200. This limited edition is also richly equipped, including a high-performance braking system, an active sports exhaust, power folding door mirrors, an automatic dimming interior mirror, front and rear parking assist, a rearview camera, a Focal audio system and Alpine Telemetrics.<\/p>\n

Review of San Remo 1973<\/h2>\n

In season 1973, Alpine dominated with four wins in the first nine rallies of the WRC. The Berlinettes were among the favorites for the tenth rally of the season, that of San Remo. This rally was run in part on the same roads as the Rallye Monte Carlo. The route was therefore in favor of Alpine’s cars with their excellent power-to-weight ratio.<\/p>\n

On the first rally day, Alpine #1 – with Jean-Luc Th\u00e9rier at the wheel and Jacques Jaubert as navigator – built a lead of more than five minutes, thanks in part to a risky but successful tire strategy. Trailing more than nine minutes behind the leader at the beginning of day two of the rally, Alpine #5 set the best time on trial after trial. In the end, #5 finished third, behind a Fiat 124 in second place and the Alpine #1, which won the Rallye Sanremo by more than six minutes ahead. This gave Alpine its first world title in the WRC as early as the tenth of the thirteen rallies of the 1973 season.<\/p>\n

The car that won the world title was in a blue-white-red color scheme with black and white stripes. So this iconic color scheme will be given a new interpretation anno 2023 to mark the 50th anniversary of its victory in the 1973 Rallye San Remo.
