According to BMW, this platform sets the standard in digitalization, sustainability and design for electric cars. The new head-up display, which extends across the entire width of the windshield, creates a unique interaction and information surface for all occupants.<\/p>\n<h2>BMW Panoramic Vision<\/h2>\n<p>Frank Weber, Member of the Development Board of BMW AG, describes the main advantages of this revolutionary new head-up display as follows: &#8220;With our new BMW Panoramic Vision, the windshield becomes one large display, opening up completely new possibilities for the design of our vehicles. Whether the driver decides what information he wants to display in his own field of vision, or whether all occupants can see the full content. The revolutionary projection and the significantly more clearly structured cockpit give an impressive new sense of space and handling. We are taking our proven slogan &#8216;hands on the wheel, eyes on the road&#8217; to a new level.&#8221;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/bmw-panoramic-vision-1140x760.jpg\" alt=\"BMW Panoramic Vision\" class=\"wp-image-153509\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Full-width BMW head-up display<\/h2>\n<p>For the first time, HUD technology makes displays across the entire width of the windshield visible to all passengers. BMW Panoramic Vision displays information relevant to the driver and passengers with higher light intensity and contrast on a dark painted area at the lower edge of the windshield. This provides an extremely sharp image that is always visible across the full width of the windshield. Information relevant to the driving situation is always available in the right place at the right time.<\/p>\n<h2>Retrospective<\/h2>\n<p>On-board computers with digital displays first appeared in the BMW 7 Series in the 1980s. The first BMW iDrive in 2001 significantly reduced the use of switches and buttons like no other control system, creating a modern and uncluttered interior. The first series production of BMW head-up displays followed shortly thereafter. The success story of BMW Group&#8217;s development of groundbreaking innovations continues with the new BMW Panoramic Vision head-up display for the Neue Klasse.<\/p>\n<h2>BMW iDrive<\/h2>\n<p>BMW Group continues to continuously develop the BMW iDrive control concept with the BMW Panoramic Vision. The company presented its <a href=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/bmw-i-vision-dee\/\">BMW i Vision Dee<\/a> at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year. It shows how a comprehensive head-up display can also be used to design screen controls and an immersive user experience in the future. The study demonstrates the fusion of reality and virtual world by turning windows into a projection surface. The implementation of this technology is now becoming a reality in series production of Neue Klasse vehicles.<\/p>\n<p>At the IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich, the BMW Group will present further steps and new details on the way to the Neue Klasse.
