Seven threes, in other words. There are quite a few of them. At the BMW Group Plant Leipzig, BMW currently produces the BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe and BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. Car number 3,333,333, by the way, was a BMW 128ti, finished in Melbourne Red metallic with black accents. This is a 265-hp hot hatchbach where the letters “ti” stand for Turismo Internazionale.<\/p>\n

The party number: a BMW 128ti<\/h2>\n

The red BMW 128ti enters the list of milestone vehicles produced in Leipzig. The first was a BMW 320i in March 2005, the inaugural “BMW made in Leipzig. Six years later, in December 2011, a BMW 116d in Alpine White drove off the assembly line in Leipzig as the millionth car. In October 2016, the two millionth car was a reality: a BMW i3 in Protonic Blue. In 2021, a BMW M240i Cabriolet in Sunset Orange was celebrated as the three millionth car to roll off the assembly line at the BMW plant in Leipzig.<\/p>\n

Car number 4,000,000<\/h2>\n

Car number 4,000,000 will be a BMW or a MINI. Because in the course of this year, a car will arrive in Leipzig: the MINI Countryman. The BMW 1 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and the MINI Countryman are all made on a single production line – with a choice of three different powertrains: internal combustion engine, plug-in hybrid and fully electric.<\/p>\n

BMW Group Plant Leipzig can produce up to 350,000 cars a year at the time of writing. In the first year of production, there were about 54,000.
