The government is currently doing all it can to promote electric driving. Consumers also seem increasingly interested in this. For example, we see more and more electric cars being sold; explosive growth is also expected in 2023. In addition, the goal is for all new cars sold in the Netherlands to be electric by 2030. This is necessary to achieve the agreed targets of the Climate Agreement.<\/p>\n

Still, not everyone is equally enthusiastic about electric driving. After all, is electric driving really that practical? And does it also provide other benefits? Yes, of course! More and more charging stations<\/strong><\/h2>\n

When the very first electric cars appeared on the road, it still presented many logistical problems for the driver. Especially since there were still relatively few charging stations in the Netherlands. Every ride was therefore a challenge. Where should I load? And will I reach my final destination on a load of electricity? Now, thankfully, that problem is a thing of the past. Those looking for a charging station<\/a> are out of luck. There are now numerous charging stations available in the Netherlands. Especially in big cities. As a result, there is actually always one nearby.<\/p>\n

Comfortable driving<\/h2>\n

Another big advantage of electric cars is that they almost always have an automatic transmission. So that means you no longer have to shift gears manually. Even those who are attached to a manual transmission will find that an automatic drives very relaxed, for example during traffic jam driving. You are less concerned with shifting gears. That gives peace on the road and in your mind.<\/p>\n

Less noise production<\/h2>\n

Did you know that an electric car is also literally quieter? It makes much less noise than an average fuel car. It almost doesn’t seem like the engine is really on. That does offer advantages. There is less background noise which allows you to focus better. Yet there has also been some criticism of this: in fact, the first electric cars were so quiet that they were overlooked by cyclists and pedestrians. Therefore, since 2019, it is mandatory that new electric cars have a warning system if they slow down or drive in reverse. In this process, the car makes more noise to alert the nearby environment at such crucial moments.<\/p>\n

Tax benefits<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Initially, you spend more when you buy an electric car. Batteries are expensive and therefore the purchase price is higher than a typical fuel car. Still, you can save a lot of money in the long run.
