Renault Sport<\/h2>\n

Renault Sport is the high-performance division of the Renault. It is responsible for the development and production of extra spirited versions of mainstream Renault models. Think of models such as the Clio V6, M\u00e9gane R.S., Clio R.S. and, of course, the iconic Renault Sport Spider. Renault Sport also participates in a number of motorsports events, such as World Series by Renault and Renault Sport Trophy. The R.S. division is closing its doors for good after the end of production of the M\u00e9gane<\/a> RS Ultime. From then on, all the extra sporty stuff came from Alpine.<\/p>\n

1,976 copies<\/h2>\n

Renault is building 1,976 examples of the M\u00e9gane RS Ultime. ‘What an odd number,’ we hear you thinking. This was obviously considered. Renault Sport was founded in 1976. So it is a nice reference to a nice piece of French automotive history. The considerably peppery M\u00e9gane is available in the familiar R.S. color Sirius Yellow. If this color is not quite your thing after all, there is also a choice of orange, black or white.<\/p>\n

Steering rear wheels<\/h2>\n

The RS Ultime uses the Renault Megane RS Trophy <\/a>as its base. So the engine powering the Ultime is a 300-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The RS has an automatic transmission and the 0-100 time is 5.7 seconds. A special feature is that the Renault RS has co-steering rear wheels. This allows it to turn even faster. <\/p>\n

Nice wide<\/h2>\n

In addition to the striking yellow color and RS badges, you can recognize the Ultime by its solidly flared wheel arches. The body is 60 millimeters wider at the front and 45 millimeters wider at the rear. The Ultime sits on so-called “Fuji” rims, which combined with the yellow color give the car an extra sporty edge. Tire manufacturer Bridgestone supplies the rubber that surrounds it. Braking is done with the help of Brembo brakes. In the interior you will find bucket seats from Recaro, lots of alcantara and nice stitching and a lot of RS logos. Then the bad news. Unfortunately, the Ultime will not be delivered in the Netherlands. <\/p>\n
