Still, the cabinet&#8217;s environmental plans to create zero-emission zones in city centers appear to be going ahead for now. In short, driving into town on gasoline or diesel will become a thing of the past in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The latter reason presumably prompted the owner of this Fiat Panda to replace the traditional internal combustion engine in his little car with an all-electric powertrain. We don&#8217;t know the <em>ins and outs<\/em> of the story, but we&#8217;ll hazard a guess that this conversion is a strong piece of homebrew. Handsomely done, of course, but then you&#8217;re still stuck with that high electricity price&#8230;.<\/p>\n<h2>From a cartoon<\/h2>\n<p>We suspect the owner of this car used to watch a lot of the television series <em>Neighbor &amp; Neighbor<\/em>, because to be fair, the solution he\/she came up with for charging the Panda does come from that corner: an aggegrate on the roof! &#8220;Hey Neighbor, I have a problem. I can&#8217;t charge my electric car on the cheap anymore!&#8221; &#8220;Ooh Neighbor, no problem at all, I still have something in the garage&#8230;&#8221; Anyone familiar with the series can easily picture the two men placing the generator on the roof of the Fiat Panda. Truly brilliant!<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"713\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/MicrosoftTeams-image-2-1140x713.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-146571\"><\/figure>\n<p>According to Jeroen, who spotted the car near the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, you could hardly avoid the combination. If only because the generator generated a hell of a racket. It all seems pretty cumbersome: you go to great lengths to scrape the gasoline engine out of your Panda, then you do charge it in an extremely polluting way, and in the process you also immediately kill the car&#8217;s center of gravity and handling characteristics.
