By the way, it is often said in the media that the Lightyear is a solar car, but that is incorrect. Lightyear’s models are battery-electric cars, but solar panels on the car allow for recharging on the road – or when the car is stationary. The same trick Toyota applies to its Prius Plug-in Hybrid.
